Nayza was busy working when her phone suddenly rang.
She glanced at the screen before picking up the call.
"Huru... heyy how's you?"
"Doing good," Huru replied softly. "What about you? And sorry... I've been so busy lately that I couldn't answer your calls."
"It's alright," Nayza said gently. "Tell me first, when are you coming back here? After graduation, you went to stay with your brother Savash."
"Yeah," Huru answered quietly. "I needed some time to work on myself... so that one day Doruk might finally understand me."
A faint sadness crossed Nayza's expression.
"I can understand," she said softly. "But trust me... one day, he'll definitely gonna realize how much you love him. And honestly you'reperfect for him."
Huru fell silent for a moment before speaking again in a slightly downcast voice, "Nayza... can I say something?"
"Hm?"
"I think Doruk likes you."
For a few seconds, Nayza stayed quiet, "That's not really it," she replied calmly. "
Deep down, Nayza already knew Huru was right.
Doruk's feelings had never been difficult for her to notice.
Nayza had never accepted that love, though she also never completely distanced herself from his friendship either.
After the call ended, Nayza quietly returned to her work.
Leera, who had unintentionally overheard part of the conversation, looked at her for a moment before asking softly,
"That was Huru, right?"
Nayza nodded. "Yeah."
Leera stayed silent briefly before speaking again.
"So... you rejected Doruk because Huru loved him?"
Nayza listened to her question quietly. After a few seconds, she answered calmly, "It's not exactly like that. First of all, I've always saw Doruk as my friend. And honestly... if I had wanted to make him my partner, I would've been lucky to have someone like him as my life partner."
She paused slightly before continuing,
"But when your feelings aren't that deep... when it's not actually love... then how can you stay with someone knowing there's another person who truly loves them?
Her voice remained gentle and steady, "I never wanted to take away someone else's love."
For a brief moment, Nayza lowered her gaze before speaking again.
"And to be honest... if I had actually been in love with Doruk, then I would've wanted to become his life partner no matter who else loved him. Because in that case, I would've understood that my feelings mattered too."
A faint smile appeared on her face, "But the feelings I have for Doruk are different. I respect him deeply, and I love him as a friend... nothing more."
Leera stared at Nayza in surprise after hearing her words.
"Woah, that was tuff,"
Then, with sudden affection, she grabbed Nayza's hand and said softly,
"Nayza... the way you think is genuinely beautiful. Sometimes I can't even believe you're my friend."
Nayza looked at her in confusion. "What happened to you all of a sudden?"
Both of them burst into laughter afterward before returning to their work.
"Aah, right! There's something I forgot to tell you," Leera suddenly said excitedly.
Nayza looked at her curiously. "What is it?"
Leera's smile widened instantly, "Next month, Yesir's coming to my house with his parents."
For a second, Nayza stared at her in shock before her eyes widened with realization, "Wait… don't tell me this is that?"
Leera laughed shyly, unable to hide her happiness anymore, "Yes," she admitted excitedly. "It's exactly that."
The moment Nayza understood, she gasped loudly before immediately throwing her arms around Leera, "No wayyyy!"
Leera hugged her back just as excitedly, "yeahh!"
Both of them burst into happy laughter, unable to contain their excitement anymore.
Just then, Doruk walked in and noticed the two of them looking unusually excited.
"Well, well... looks like something big happened," he said with a grin.
Leera immediately pointed a finger at him, "Don't even tell me you don't know."
Doruk laughed lightly. "I do know. Yesir already told me." Then he looked at her warmly, "Congra!"
"Aww, thanks," Leera replied happily.
Nayza looked at him curiously, "You showed up after a long time."
"Yeah," Doruk said casually, "Thought I'd stop by and see everyone before I leave."
Both Leera and Nayza frowned in confusion, "Huh?" Leera blinked. "What do you mean?"
Nayza looked just as puzzled.
Doruk simply smiled, "I'll tell you during the break. I've been waiting to talk about it anyway."
The two exchanged confused glances before nodding, "Okay."
After that, Doruk walked over to an empty table and sat down. Neither he nor Erhaan knew that the other was there. Both of them were unaware of each other's presence inside Velvet Hour.
