After watching the Sky Knight leave, Sonic stood quietly for a moment. Then he spoke to the crew.
"When I was younger, an old man used to raise me for a while," Sonic said. "He always told me stories about the world and the news."
Sonic looked up at the sky and added calmly, "But he also told me something important… that not everything the news says is actually true."
He paused for a second.
"I was about five when he died."
The crew reacted differently.
Monkey D. Luffy simply nodded and said, "Sounds like a cool old guy."
Roronoa Zoro crossed his arms and said quietly, "He taught you well."
Nami looked a little surprised but said gently, "That must have been hard."
Usopp said, "So that's why you're always watching everything so carefully."
Sanji nodded and said, "Old men like that usually know a lot."
Tony Tony Chopper looked at Sonic with sympathy and said softly, "He must have cared about you a lot."
Sonic just gave a small smile and looked ahead toward the sky sea again.
