Luffy and the crew finally arrived in Skypiea, a floating island far above the clouds. The strange sky sea, white cloud land, and bright sky amazed everyone on the ship.
Without waiting, Monkey D. Luffy jumped off the Going Merry and ran off to explore the island.
Sonic grinned when he saw this.
"Guess I'll scout ahead," he said.
In the next moment, Sonic dashed across the cloud ground at hypersonic speed, racing through the strange sky island to explore the area faster than anyone else.
Screen 2
While exploring the sky island, the crew met Conis, a local girl who welcomed them kindly, along with her father Pagaya.
Conis showed them a strange sky fruit and explained that instead of eating it normally, they should drink the juice inside.
Monkey D. Luffy tried it first and happily drank the juice.
Just then Sonic suddenly stopped beside them after running around the island.
"Hey, what are you drinking?" Sonic asked.
After hearing the explanation, Sonic grabbed one of the fruits and drank the juice as well.
He wiped his mouth and said with a grin, "Not bad… sky fruit tastes pretty good."
Screen 3
Nami quickly noticed something unusual about Pagaya's boat called a Waver. It moved smoothly across the cloud sea without sails or pedals.
Pagaya explained that the boat was powered by special devices called Dials, mysterious shells that store different kinds of energy.
Conis demonstrated several types of Dials. One could record and replay voices, while another could release bursts of air.
While everyone watched with curiosity, Sonic didn't seem very interested in the explanation.
Instead, he grabbed another sky fruit and drank the juice again.
"Yeah, yeah… cool shells," Sonic said casually, "but this juice is better."
Screen 4
Pagaya and Conis explained that there was a sacred place in Skypiea known as the Upper Yard, where their God resided. Entering that area was forbidden and extremely dangerous.
After hearing this, Monkey D. Luffy immediately grinned and said he wanted to go there.
Sonic listened quietly while looking toward the distant clouds.
In his mind he thought,
"If there's a sacred place up there… maybe that's where something like a Chaos Emerald could be."
He stayed silent but began thinking about exploring the area himself.
Screen 5
While exploring the strange cloud island, Sonic suddenly moved at extreme speed across the area. His movement created powerful shockwaves through the cloud ground.
The force of his speed caused part of the cloud island to burst apart, sending white cloud fragments into the sky.
The crew looked in shock at the sudden explosion-like effect.
Usopp shouted, "Hey! What did you just do?!"
Sonic slowed down and looked at the broken cloud area.
"…Okay, I might have gone a little too fast."
Screen 6
Suddenly, a powerful flash of light struck from the sky. The blast hit the ground with overwhelming force, and it looked like the man Nami had been trying to help was struck by it.
Far away, Sonic saw the bright strike and stopped moving.
"What was that light…?" he muttered.
A moment later, Sonic noticed Nami and the others might be in danger. Without hesitation, he dashed across the clouds at hypersonic speed and rushed back toward the crew.
Meanwhile, Skypiea's police began announcing that seven illegal intruders had entered the island.
Nami overheard the announcement and quickly realized the intruders they were talking about were the Straw Hat crew.
Screen 7
The Straw Hat crew was suddenly surrounded by Skypiea police. The officers accused them of illegally entering the island and declared them intruders.
Conis and Pagaya were shocked when they heard the accusation.
The police then announced the punishment: a fine of 7 billion berries.
Everyone froze in disbelief.
Sonic's eyes widened.
"Seven billion?!" he shouted.
He crossed his arms angrily and said, "That's more money than I'd save in my whole lifetime. We're pirates, not billionaires."
