Chapter 27 - Chapter 029

"Why do I always feel like Ultron died too hastily?"

After returning to Stark Tower, everything from the base had already been transported back.

Several people sat on the sofa drinking wine. On the table were steaks, hamburgers, and other food Tony had ordered.

It should have been a cheerful party with wine in hand, but Thor didn't look happy.

"Vision, can you sense Ultron?"

Vision and Ultron originally came from the same source, so they were able to sense each other.

Vision looked at Thor and said, "He's truly gone."

After hearing the answer, Thor finally felt more at ease.

Natasha sat quietly, lost in thought, no one knew what she was thinking about.

"You said your abilities were acquired later?"

Wanda looked at Di Wu in disbelief.

She could never imagine that such powerful abilities had been acquired after birth.

Di Wan sighed and said, "My master, the Ancient One, is even stronger."

Everyone present was shocked by those words.

They suddenly realized that there were still many things on Earth they didn't understand.

"So what are your plans for the future?" Steve asked while leaning against the sofa.

"For now, I want to see more of this world."

"For now?" Steve asked, wanting clarification.

Di Wan smiled. "Yes. When Karl's power reaches a certain level, he'll be able to break through the barriers of the universe. Then we'll try to return to our own world."

Everyone present knew them and could sense that they weren't bad people, so Di Wu didn't hide anything.

Even if someone wanted to do something to them, Karl was there. They would have to carefully weigh the consequences. Besides, Di Wu herself could handle most situations.

"He can become even stronger?!" Thor temporarily put aside his thoughts about Ultron and became interested in what Di Wan had said.

Tony looked at Karl more carefully.

"Although I know I probably shouldn't say this, I still want to study you. It would greatly help my research and technological development."

Everyone fell silent and looked at Tony.

Tony didn't care and continued speaking.

"You see, Karl is basically a completely new species. His DNA has enormous research value. I only need one tube of your blood. If it works, it will be extremely meaningful for our entire team."

Di Wan frowned slightly, clearly displeased.

Karl held her hand and looked at Tony with a smile.

"As long as you can draw my blood, you can have it."

Tony suddenly understood.

"Fair enough. Regret is not a good kid."

After saying that, he gestured for Karl to follow him and stood up, heading toward his laboratory.

Everyone else was curious as well. Karl was simply too powerful, and they all wanted to learn more about him.

They moved from the party sofa area to the top-floor apartment laboratory.

Tony asked the new artificial intelligence, "Friday," to activate the studio equipment.

"Karl, lie down first. I'll adjust the equipment."

Karl obediently lay down. After checking his condition, Tony began operating the monitor beside him.

Everyone knew Karl's body was extremely strong, but they had no idea just how strong it really was.

"This might hurt a little, but I'm sure you can handle it."

Tony finished calibrating the equipment. Several mechanical arms extended from the device above Karl.

The mechanical arms carried various needles and tools that looked rather intimidating.

A needle pierced Karl's arm…

It bent.

It couldn't even penetrate his skin.

Tony had expected this. Other mechanical arms began operating, applying more force to Karl's body.

No matter how hard they tried, it was useless.

Tony couldn't succeed, so he prepared to use his strongest method.

The mechanical arm transformed at the tip and fired a laser.

"Zizi Zi Zi—"

Karl's flawless skin didn't show a single mark. Meanwhile, the entire building's power supply began fluctuating and the lights dimmed.

"Damn! Are you kidding me? That temperature is at least six thousand degrees. How can there be absolutely no reaction?"

Hearing Tony curse, Steve frowned.

"You just used foul language."

"I know, I know. Our captain doesn't like hearing people swear."

Tony waved his hand casually.

At that moment, Vision stepped forward.

"Perhaps I can try."

Everyone turned their attention to Vision.

The Mind Stone on his forehead emitted a yellow beam toward Karl's arm.

The beam was completely silent, giving people the strange feeling that it didn't exist in normal space.

Vision clenched his teeth and increased the output of the Mind Stone.

For a long time, Karl's arm showed no change.

Vision floated upward, and the beam expanded into a light curtain that scanned Karl's entire body.

After scanning back and forth for a while, Vision stopped using the ability.

Looking at Karl, he said, "His body no longer belongs to any lifeform within three-dimensional space."

He turned to the others.

"We are three-dimensional beings, but his body feels more like something from four dimensions… or even a higher-dimensional cosmic lifeform."

"Impossible. That's nonsense."

Tony immediately refuted Vision's statement.

"A four-dimensional being couldn't enter three-dimensional space, just like we can't enter two-dimensional or one-dimensional space. Theoretically, a four-dimensional lifeform could control all time and space in three dimensions."

Karl obviously couldn't do that. Otherwise he wouldn't be trapped here and unable to leave.

Vision replied calmly,

"His body is very strange. It exists somewhere between energy and matter. Unless you use energy stronger than his body itself, you cannot harm him."

Tony fell silent. He couldn't understand what was happening.

"So even the Infinity Stones can't hurt him?" Thor asked with a frown.

"The energy of the Infinity Stones would be absorbed by him," Vision said.

"He's like a sponge, constantly absorbing the overflowing energy from the stones."

The energy Vision had just released from the Mind Stone hadn't harmed Karl at all—it had been absorbed instead.

At first, Vision thought there might be a limit. But after scanning for more than ten minutes, he realized there was none.

Natasha picked up the dagger in her hand, walked over to Karl, and stabbed his hand fiercely.

"Clang—"

Instead, the shock made her hand ache and she nearly dropped the dagger.

"How can Di Wan even endure this?!"

When Di Wan heard that sentence, her cheeks instantly turned red.

She glared angrily at Karl, who was lying on the operating table and looking at her with a smile.
