Rahim and Karim slowly walked toward the old house. Rahim kept the golden key safely in his pocket. Both of them were very excited, but at the same time they felt a little nervous.
Karim looked at Rahim and asked, "Do you really think this key can open a secret room?"
Rahim smiled a little and said, "I don't know. But the key was hidden under a big stone. That means it must be important."
The old house stood quietly in front of them. It was a very large house with tall walls and old wooden windows. Some parts of the house looked broken because it had been standing there for many years.
When the boys entered the house, everything was silent.
The big hall inside the house looked empty and dusty. Sunlight was coming through the windows and small dust particles were floating in the air.
Rahim looked around carefully.
"This house feels strange," he said softly.
Karim nodded. "Yes. My grandfather always said that this house is full of secrets."
The boys decided to start searching for the hidden door.
First, they checked the living room. There were some old chairs, a wooden table, and a large cupboard.
Karim opened the cupboard and looked inside.
But there was nothing except some old books and papers.
Rahim checked behind the table and under the chairs.
But they did not find anything.
After that, they went to another room.
This room looked even older. The walls had cracks, and the furniture was covered with dust.
There were many old books lying on the floor.
Karim picked up one of the books and blew the dust away.
"Maybe the secret door is somewhere here," he said.
Rahim slowly walked around the room. He carefully looked at every wall.
Suddenly he stopped.
One part of the wall looked a little different from the rest.
Rahim walked closer and touched the wall.
"Karim, come here," he called.
Karim quickly walked to him.
"What happened?" he asked.
Rahim knocked on the wall with his hand.
The wall made a hollow sound.
Karim's eyes became wide.
"This wall sounds different!" he said.
Rahim carefully checked the wall again. He moved his hand across the surface.
Then he noticed something strange.
Behind a small wooden piece, there was a tiny hole.
Rahim moved the wood aside.
There was a small keyhole hidden in the wall.
"Look!" Rahim said excitedly.
Karim could not believe what he was seeing.
"A keyhole!" he said.
Rahim slowly took the golden key out of his pocket.
The key was shining softly in the light.
Both boys felt their hearts beating fast.
"Try it," Karim said.
Rahim carefully placed the golden key into the keyhole.
For a moment, nothing happened.
The room became very quiet.
Then Rahim slowly turned the key.
Suddenly they heard a small sound.
Click.
Both boys stepped back.
A part of the wall started moving slowly.
They watched with surprise as a hidden door opened in the wall.
Behind the door, there was a dark staircase going down into the ground.
Rahim and Karim looked at each other.
"This must be the secret room," Karim said softly.
Rahim took a deep breath.
"Yes… but we don't know what is inside."
Karim turned on the torch again.
The light showed a long staircase going down into darkness.
The stairs looked old and dusty.
Rahim said, "Are you ready?"
Karim nodded bravely.
"Yes. Let's go."
Slowly, the two boys started walking down the secret stairs.
Each step made a small echo in the silent tunnel.
The air felt cold and a little damp.
Rahim held the torch while Karim walked behind him.
They continued walking down the stairs.
After a few minutes, they finally reached the bottom.
At the bottom of the stairs, they saw a small wooden door.
The door looked very old.
Rahim slowly pushed the door.
The door opened with a creaking sound.
Inside the room, they saw something amazing.
The room was full of old boxes, wooden chests, and rolled maps.
There were also some strange objects lying on the floor.
It looked like a secret storage room.
Karim looked around with wonder.
"This place is incredible," he whispered.
Rahim nodded.
"Yes. Someone must have hidden many things here long ago."
They slowly walked inside the room.
Rahim used the torch to look around.
There were dusty shelves on the walls. Some old tools and books were placed there.
Karim picked up one of the maps.
It looked very old and yellow.
"Maybe this map shows something important," he said.
Rahim was about to reply when he noticed something strange.
In one corner of the room, there was a large wooden chest.
The chest looked bigger than the other boxes.
Suddenly, the chest moved slightly.
Rahim froze.
"Karim… did you see that?" he whispered.
Karim slowly turned toward the chest.
The chest moved again.
Both boys felt their hearts beating very fast.
"What could be inside that chest?" Karim asked nervously.
Rahim slowly walked closer to the chest.
Each step felt heavier than the last.
The room was very quiet.
The torchlight was shaking slightly in Rahim's hand.
The chest moved again.
Karim said quietly, "Maybe we should open it."
Rahim nodded slowly.
He reached the chest and placed his hand on the lid.
The wood felt old and rough.
Rahim took a deep breath.
Then he slowly started lifting the lid.
The mystery was about to become even deeper...
