Chapter 21 - Chapter 21: The Promise of the Guardians

The temple was finally calm.

The bright blue light from the crystal became soft and peaceful. The shaking had stopped. The danger was over.

Rahim and Karim stood silently for a moment.

Both of them were tired, but their faces showed relief.

Karim slowly sat down on the stone floor.

"We did it…" he said softly.

Rahim nodded and smiled.

"Yes. The city is safe now."

For a few seconds, they said nothing. The quietness of the ancient temple felt different now—not scary, but peaceful.

Karim looked around.

"This place… it doesn't feel dangerous anymore," he said.

Rahim replied, "Because now it trusts us."

Karim looked at the crystal in Rahim's hand.

"It really chose us, didn't it?"

Rahim nodded.

"Yes. Not because we are strong… but because we wanted to protect."

Karim smiled.

"That's true."

Suddenly, the crystal started glowing again—but this time, the light was warm and gentle.

A soft voice echoed inside the temple.

"Guardians…"

Both boys looked around in surprise.

Karim whispered, "It's the voice again."

Rahim said, "Listen carefully."

The voice continued.

"You have proven your hearts are pure."

A soft light surrounded them.

The walls of the temple began to glow slowly.

"The city is safe because of you."

Karim looked amazed.

"It is talking to us…"

Rahim nodded.

"Yes."

The voice spoke again.

"You are now the true guardians of this place."

The crystal shined brighter for a moment, then became calm again.

Karim said quietly, "This is a big responsibility."

Rahim looked at him.

"Yes. But we will protect it together."

Karim smiled.

"Always."

They slowly walked out of the temple.

The hidden city looked even more beautiful now.

The light was soft.

The air felt peaceful.

Karim said, "It feels like the city is alive… and happy."

Rahim nodded.

"Yes. Because it is safe."

They walked through the empty streets of the ancient city.

But it did not feel empty anymore.

It felt like the city was watching them with trust.

After some time, they reached the edge of the valley.

Karim stopped.

"So… what happens now?" he asked.

Rahim looked at the mountains.

"We go back," he said.

Karim looked surprised.

"Back? To the old house?"

Rahim nodded.

"Yes. We cannot stay here forever."

Karim thought for a moment.

"But what about the city?"

Rahim held the crystal.

"We will protect it… from outside," he said.

Karim smiled.

"That makes sense."

Rahim said, "And we will come back when needed."

Karim nodded.

"Yes. We are its guardians."

Before leaving, both of them turned back and looked at the hidden city one last time.

The soft blue light was still glowing.

It felt like the city was saying goodbye.

Karim raised his hand and said softly, "We will come back."

Rahim smiled.

"Yes. This is not the end."

They slowly walked away from the valley.

The mountains stood tall behind them.

Their journey back was quiet.

But their hearts were full.

They had faced danger.

They had protected something important.

And they had grown stronger.

After some time, they reached the forest again.

The path felt familiar now.

Karim said, "It feels strange… everything is normal again."

Rahim smiled.

"Yes. But we are not the same anymore."

Karim nodded.

"That's true."

Finally, they reached the old house.

The place where everything had started.

Karim looked at it and smiled.

"This house changed our lives."

Rahim said, "Yes. It gave us a purpose."

They entered the house.

It felt quiet and peaceful.

No danger.

No fear.

Just silence.

Karim said, "So… this is the end?"

Rahim looked at the crystal.

"No," he said.

"This is a new beginning."

Karim smiled.

"I like that."

Rahim carefully placed the crystal in a safe place.

Not hidden.

But protected.

Karim said, "We will always watch over it."

Rahim nodded.

"Yes. Together."

The two friends stood side by side.

They were no longer just boys.

They were guardians.

And their story was not over...
