POV: Scarlett Mitchell
The video starts playing on her phone before she even understands what she's looking at.
It's Cameron's voice. His office. But the words are wrong.
"You're nothing without me," the video shows him saying. "You understand that, right? Everything good in your life is because I made it happen."
Scarlett's stomach drops.
She knows he never said that. She knows every word he's ever spoken to her. But this video shows him saying it. This video shows him sitting across from her with no emotion in his face while he destroys her with words.
Elle comes into the kitchen where she's standing.
"Don't watch it," Elle says.
But it's too late.
The video continues. Cameron's voice again. "You should be grateful. You were nothing when you came to me. Homeless. Desperate. I gave you everything. So the least you can do is appreciate that."
