It has been days since they have received their new training methods for new moves for their quirks, thanks to the big three. However they heard that there will be a school festival nearing the end of this school year as they had so much planning to do. Since they are still a class of nineteen students they decided to take it easy as they prepared some stalls, however it was mostly full for them to make stalls. Since class 1a and 1b are in the hero course, they are expected to be the main attractions for each school festival. But luckily for class 1a they had some good students who enjoy a bit of creativity such as Flare's artistic mind, Reiko's planning, Poller and Blaze's strength, and everyone else who can also help with the festival. They thought of creating a stage to show a theater performance while around the theater there will be snacks and games before the main show begins.
Reiko and Flare showed them the plans and who will be in the watch stall and who will be working on the theater performance.
Outside will have Sachi in charge of the snacks and drinks, while Aoi, Blaze and Poller would be in charge of the games.
While for the performance starting with the props Senda and Flare will create the props and Doc Doc would control the props while Reiko would inspect the props to see no defects in it.
Astral will be in charge of lights, and Hamour will bring the thunder as Kuroda would make the effects of thunder.
Then for the actors Mizuno would watch the actors, as for the main villain will have Euro be it with Delmon and Mondo as his sidekick, Fennel, Uni and Hino would be side characters and Goshi will be the main character of the play.
However Goshi was not feeling as quickly shook his head, "oh come on Goshi you're basically the right person for this and your quirk and hero outfit really fits the knight vibe."
"I'm sorry, but I cannot… I have stage fright"
The others were shocked to hear to think their most powerful and yet valiant student in class 1a has stage fright, even though he looked to be wise, brave and courageous at times. But the thought of the Chivalry Hero having stage fright feels really disappointing, but they are not here to fail or lose. They are here to adapt even if someone is afraid there are always others to help them.
They tried to persuade Goshi to become the main actor in the play, but he kept refusing as he would make the play worse. Until Doc Doc gave out a horrific idea as he use his quirk to control him, but he would still need to speak. Goshi did not like the plan, but felt like it was the only way for him to play as he cannot go on stage without freezing. Then it was settled as they had a plan now for the festival as it would take a month to prepare and luckily they have all the time they needed.
During the first week of preparations Sachi already got a good list of snacks to buy for everyone to enjoy, Senda and Flare practiced making the props, Aoi, Blaze, and Poller made some fun activities for the games, and the others did their thing while Goshi had to practice his lines and realizes how inexperienced he is as he keeps practicing.
During the second week the stalls and games were already prepared and planned as Sachi, Aoi, Blaze, and Poller got what they wanted to do and what to give. Senda and Flare got the structure and props down, Doc Doc already knows what to do, and the special effects team were still practicing with the timing, while the actors are getting the performance down while Goshi is trying his best.
Then on the third week the festival would not start until next week as the others took the chance to take a break and head outside in order to clear their minds from the pressure of the upcoming school festival. Mizuno and Flare took the chance to ask Kuroda for a walk at some places, he agreed, showing a kind and calm smile as both blushed, but Delmon had to follow in case nothing went bad. Senda stayed at home as his twin sister stills annoys him, Doc Doc heads back to his place to help with Randomizer in secret to the others except Kuroda who knows. Everyone else did their usual but Goshi was taking a walk, nervous about how he's going to perform.
But suddenly he felt a familiar presence approaching him, he looked back to see it was Montrail from Shiketsu high.
"What are you doing here all the way here?"
Montrail smiled "I'm here to see the performance you were going to put on"
Goshi's eyes suddenly winded "how did you know that class 1a is performing?"
"Word travel is fast Haki, and I couldn't just not miss it, I want to see how a class with one student short will adapt to a major event like this"
"Then you won't be disappointed"
Montrail smiled again as she leaned over and whispered to Goshi's ears "then I'll be watching, Haki" then Montrail walked away not before giving Goshi something, her number and pin.
Then when the fourth week arrived, the UA school festival had begun and there were many stalls, attractions, and some stuff to play and see. But the most anticipated event was for class 1a to begin the theater play as it will be starting in the afternoon. Fortunately for Sachi, Aoi, Blaze, and Poller they get to play around the stalls and attractions while the others prepare.
Sachi tried the food, Aoi tried the creative activities, getting her face painted like a bee. Then finally Blaze and Poller played some of the extreme physical activities, throwing balls at milk bottles, swinging hammers, and even had a tug of war against each other. Poller even got some prizes from the games as he won a teddy bear plushie and planned it to give to Uni.
"You and Uni have been really close?" Blaze crossed his arms.
"Well me and Uni didn't exactly have the best childhoods out of everyone, after all we mutation type people don't get a lot of recognition and I am a Heteromorphic type mutant as I get less attention than anyone else." Poller looked at the plushie "I'm just giving it to her as a souvenir"
Blaze patted his back "I understand, you do you bro"
Later in the afternoon Sachi, Aoi, Blaze, and Poller had to go back to their stalls as the others prepared for the play. They had to distract the customers with games of their own. While Sachi gives them snacks for the play, Blaze challenge some folks to an arm wrestling with the physically strongest student in class 1a, while Poller let some students feel his fur as he gives them cones of ice cream, and Aoi gave some people flowers with some special scent that she uses her pollen on to make the flowers suddenly smell greater.
Then the theatre opened letting the other students walk in and take a seat waiting for the play to start. The actors saw the amount of students watching and the special effects team saw it from above. It was now or never, they set up everything as Doc Doc uses his strings on Goshi controlling his body, as Goshi was wearing his hero armour as it began.
The setting was a typical theater adventure where the hero had to help the citizens and face off against the evils of this world. Showing Goshi walking forward and talking to Uni, Hino, and Fennal who are obviously playing as the civilians in this play as they all acted terrified that a group of villains attacked them. Goshi gave them encouraging words, but wasn't moving his body as Doc Doc was controlling and Goshi is only speaking as deep down he is terrified, but kept his voice steady as across the crowd of students Montrail is watching.
Then later the scene shifts to a darker atmosphere with Kuroda using lightning to give the appearance of a thunderstorm with Hamour slamming his head to create the sounds of thunder. While on the stage Doc Doc controls Goshi's body to move as he confronts the three villains who are Delmon and Mondo being minor villains with Euro being the main villain. Goshi spoke heroic and valiantly as he tried to distract himself from looking at the audience as the others noticed and the villains made sure the attention was on them only as they talked to him.
Then they fought with Mizuno watching from a far and ordering the others where to throw and ordered Doc Doc, when to move Goshi's body to attack as Astral kept the light on the four.
Delmon and Mondo threw their projectiles at Goshi as Doc Doc secretly moved Goshi's body the way he did, dodging the attacks and deflecting some with his sword. However, Montrail noticed that Goshi isn't moving like she saw before, his movements weren't moving on instinct, each swing doesn't show the pride he wields with his sword, and despite Goshi looking like he is doing this by himself something felt off. She scooted over her friend Shimi Skenzu, another student of Shikestu high who had the quirk elemental sight that can see the invisible structure of emitter quirks.
Skenzu saw there were threads controlling Goshi's body "I see threads"
"So that's why, it must be from their ventriloquist user. How interesting" Montrail then tapped on another friend from Shiketsu high as this student had the quirk to minimize changing their small body to sneak around everywhere. "Can you use your quirk and find that puppet master, I want to see Haki move like himself" they nodded and shrank their body and snuck into the back as they saw Doc Doc moving his hands controlling Goshi's body. The minimize quirk user turned their body normal as they struck Doc Doc behind the neck temporarily knocking him out, Senda and Flare noticed as they demanded to know what happened, but the students disappeared back to Montrail giving her the sign it's done. Montrail smiled as she prepared to see the real show as she ate some pop corn.
Suddenly Goshi noticed he had regained control over his body as he suddenly tumbled and was suddenly hit by Mondo's power ball as the others were shocked.
"hey Mizuno what's going on, that wasn't in the script"
"I'm not sure, every move was perfect so why-"
Reiko suddenly called them on the radio "Fumoriki what happened?"
"Doc Doc is knocked out by a student who can shrink themselves" the others were shocked as they looked down at the stage Goshi slowly got up feeling the impact from that attack as Goshi pushed himself up with his sword.
"What's going on, why Doc Doc lost control over me" he thought to himself as he looked at the audience slightly seeing Montrail's face with satisfaction "so that's how" he looked back at the villain actors as sighed.
"If they want a show, then they will get on" he gripped his sword tightly with both hands as it started to pulsate with energy taking this seriously as if Goshi is fighting villains.
"So we're escalating this" Euro looked at Mondo and Delmon ordering to attack Goshi.
They threw their attacks as Goshi charged forward dodging the attacks with his usual movements rolling to the right then deflecting at the left, and grabbed one of Delmon's spikes and threw it at him. Montrail leaned in more to see more of the action; her smile grew wider as this is what she wanted to see, her shining knight fighting the villains in a true fantasy classic.
Goshi plunged his sword into the wood and swung upwards creating a large sword beam, Euro had to use his dimension walk on Delmon and Mondo to phase through the attack as the sword beam disappeared.
"Come at me villains, I will show you how a true hero will defeat you"
Goshi might be taking it too far, but it is at least a way that he can distract himself that he doesn't have stage fright. While Delmon and Mondo threw their projectiles at him, Goshi deflected them all and easily defeated them, slashing two energy sword beams at them, defeating them. Euro uses his dimension walk to dodge Goshi's slashes, Goshi uses his instincts as he waits for the right opportunity to strike, kicking backwards striking Euro at the chest as he swung a sword beam at Euro as he was knocked back and defeated.
Goshi unintentionally looked at the crowd and suddenly spoke a speech "a villain shows no harm to the weak, unless they want to face the full power of a hero no matter how much we fall down, we stand up and fight back." Suddenly Goshi realized that he spoke all that to a whole crowd of people as they grabbed their applause, especially Montrail who saw it all.
The curtains quickly closed as Goshi froze as the play ended and Doc Doc woke up and quickly ran followed by the others to help Euro, Delmon, and Mondo.
While Senda, and Reiko walked to Goshi "how are you feeling"
"Terrified, but am relieved it is over" the others exhaled in relief.
Later the others had to clean up the theater after Goshi may have done a bit of damage to the stage. But Goshi suddenly saw Montrail waiting at the entrance, he sighed as he walked towards her.
"I know what you did" he sighed "and it was on purpose"
Montrail sighed "I knew you weren't being you Haki, so I decided to help as well"
"Doc Doc was supposed to help me"
"But if you let him, then it would make you lose some of that quality" Montrail turned her back at Goshi "I enjoyed the show, hopefully you can still do something like this"
Montrail then leaves, as Goshi reaches for something in his pocket that still has the pin and number Montrail gave to him. He sighed as the school festival may be over, this will not be the last time he sees Montrail.
