Anisha felt a twinge of sadness.
Here Jasmine was, suddenly appearing like a savior while they had to flee from her own father.
Dawn had begun to break, and the soft chirping of early morning birds filtered through the trees, settling quietly into the ears of everyone present.
"Don't worry about that. Even if they come, I'll ward them off," Nhel said to Jasmine before turning to his men.
"Some of you, keep watch. The rest, head in that direction and hunt for game," he ordered.
"Yes, Your Highness," the men responded before dispersing.
Nhel turned back to Anisha.
"You must be hungry."
Jasmine noticed the way he looked at Anisha and pressed her lips together slightly.
"I'm not," Anisha replied quickly. She didn't want it to seem like Nhel had given those orders because of her.
"Princess Anisha, did you perhaps get into a fight with someone? Why is your hair not properly arranged?" Jasmine asked.
Nhel paused, considering it as well, and looked at Anisha with concern.
