Chapter 16: The Clash of Fangs
The tunnel air grew cold and heavy as a massive shadow emerged from the darkness. It was Kaelen, the Pack's fiercest enforcer, his silver fur bristling with murderous intent.
"Move aside, Alpha," Kaelen growled, his voice vibrating through the stone walls. "The Council wants the Omega. Don't make me spill royal blood today."
The protagonist Alpha didn't flinch. He stepped in front of the Omega, his own claws extending with a sharp metallic click. "You'll have to go through me first, Kaelen. And we both know I don't break easily."
With a thunderous roar, Kaelen lunged. The two Alphas collided like two freight trains, the impact sending sparks flying as their claws met. The Omega watched in terror, her back pressed against the ancient glowing symbols on the wall.
Kaelen was larger, his strikes heavy and brutal, but our Alpha was faster. He ducked under a lethal swipe and delivered a powerful kick to Kaelen's ribs, sending the giant skidding across the wet floor.
"Is that all?" the Alpha taunted, though he was breathing hard.
Kaelen snarled, his eyes turning a deep, demonic red. He gathered his strength for a final, desperate charge. But just as he leaped, the ancient symbols behind the Omega flared with a blinding white light.
The energy hit Kaelen mid-air, throwing him back into the shadows like he was nothing. The tunnel began to shake.
"Now! While he's down!" the Alpha shouted, grabbing the Omega's hand. They didn't look back as they raced toward the light at the end of the tunnel, leaving the stunned enforcer behind in the dust.
