But his mind wasn't calm not today on the table beside him lay a thin folder Filled with photographs. Photographs of Lena , Walking into our office, leaving the café, crossing the street. Adrian ran a hand through his hair, Frustration building inside him." This wasn't supposed to happen," He said quietly. He hadn't planned to meet her. Hadn't planned to talk to her, Hadn't planned to feel anything at all. But now things were changing and change meant danger. Adrian Picked up the folder and stay at one of the pictures. Lena Laughing outside the bookstore yesterday, she Looked completely unaware . Unaware that someone dangerous had already noticed her. Victor Hale Adrian's jaw tightened. Victor was a kind of man who didn't simply admire beauty. He possessed it control it destroy it if necessary. And Adrian had spent months Investigating Victor criminal network, Money laundering , Bribery, disappearances, Victor was careful too careful. No evidence, strong enough to arrest him. But Adrian Knew the truth. Victor Hale was dangerous. And now Victor had noticed Lena. Adrian Close the folder slowly. " This is bad," He whispered. Later that afternoon,Lena Left the newsroom after finishing her article. The sun was warm and the streets were busy with people. She decided to take a short walk before heading home. Her mind needed fresh air, she passed shops, cafés, and restaurant, enjoying the lively atmosphere. Then something called her attention. A new art gallery had opened in the corner, curious Lena Stepped inside soft music played as Victor slowly walked in through the room, admiring painting. Lena Move from one painting to another some were abstract Some were landscape. some were portrait. She stopped in front of a large painting of a stormy ocean. Dark waves crashing violently on the gray sky. It was powerful, beautiful and strangely emotional. " Beautiful, isn't it ? The voice came from behind her. Lena turned, her heart skipped , Adrian stood there. Again? She blinked in surprise, " okay.. this is getting weird. Adrian raised his eyebrows? " weird?" " This is the third time we have randomly met" " second " well technically third if we count the bookstore. Adrian allowed himself a faint smile. "Fair point" you're sure? Yes she said, this is starting to feel like the universe is trying to tell me something. Adrian studied her. And what would that be? Lena shrugged " I don't know yet" The boat looked back at painting, the crashing waves seems almost alive, Storms so strange, Adrian said quietly. " House so?" They look chaotic from the outside. Lena nodded. "But inside the storm," Adrian continued "Everything has a pattern" Lena glanced at him . You talk like a philosopher. "Not really." "So what do you do then?" Adrian hesitated for a brief moment, then answered carefully, " I work in the security." " security?" " Yes" what kind? Private Adrian said. Lena nodded slowly. That explains the mysterious attitude. Adrian chuckled softly, you think I am mysterious? " you definitely are." Before he could respond a voice suddenly interrupted them. " miss Hart ." A tall man in a perfectly tailored suit approached them. His smile was charming, but something about his eyes felt cold. " I'm sorry to interrupt " the man said politely. " I hope I'm not disturbing you." Lena frowned slightly. " Do I know you?" The man extended his hand. " Victor Hale." Lena shook his hand cautiously. " Nice to meet you." Adrian expression hardened immediately, Victor noticed , and smiled slightly wider. " I have heard about your journalism work." Victor said smoothly. " you have ?" Lena asked looking at the art work. Yes your article about community education last month was impressive. Lena was surprised. " Thank you " Victor turned his gaze toward Adrian. " And you are?" Victor studied him carefully. The air between them became tense, like two predators silently measuring each other. " Well, Victor said calmly, " it's a pleasure meeting you both." His eyes returned to Lena. Miss Hart , perhaps one day we could discuss professional opportunity. I support several media projects. Lena smiled politely, " that sounds interesting " Victor nodded. " Wonderful " then he stepped back. "Enjoy the gallery." As he walked away Adrian watched him carefully. Lena noticed, "you know him?" Adrian answered quietly, yes, Lena felt a chill run through her spine. Why? Adrian looked at her seriously. "Because Victor Hale is not the kind of man you want interested in you. Across the gallery, Victor stood watching them from a distance. His smile slowly disappeared, and something darker replaced it A dangerous fascination. He whisper to himself quietly. "Lena Hart." And in that moment the game truly began.
