Chapter 33 — The Spark of War

Tension on Krypton had finally reached its breaking point.

For weeks, the House of El and the House of Zod had intensified their activities across the planet.

Mining operations expanded.

Biological samples were collected from remote ecosystems.

Rare minerals, ancient metals, and geological fragments were transported daily toward hidden facilities controlled by the two houses.

At first, the Council ignored it.

Then they watched.

Then they began to worry.

Inside the Council Chamber of Kandor, the ruling council gathered once again.

A councilor stood before a projection displaying shipping routes and supply movements across Krypton.

The lines were everywhere.

All leading toward territories controlled by House El and House Zod.

One council member frowned deeply.

"Why are those two houses becoming more aggressive in collecting samples across the planet?"

Another councilor shrugged.

"I don't know."

A third councilor leaned forward.

"Perhaps they are experimenting again."

A few members nodded.

The House of El had always been Krypton's most advanced scientific family.

But this level of activity was different.

It was organized.

Systematic.

Deliberate.

Another council member spoke.

"So what is the plan?"

The High Councilor leaned back slowly in his seat.

His voice came out cold.

"We move."

The chamber quieted.

"We arrest the brat."

Several council members looked toward him.

"You mean… Von-Ra?"

"Yes."

The High Councilor's eyes narrowed.

"If the brat is removed… their operations will collapse."

Another councilor frowned.

"But how?"

He gestured toward the city beyond the chamber walls.

"That boy is the youngest but brightest scientist Krypton has produced in generations."

"The citizens admire him."

"If we arrest him without reason, panic will spread."

"Yes," another councilor agreed.

"We would create more enemies."

The High Councilor waved his hand dismissively.

"I do not care."

He leaned forward slightly.

"We will accuse them of rebellion."

The room grew silent.

Another council member hesitated.

"You mean… fabricate evidence?"

The High Councilor smiled coldly.

"We will present proof."

"Forged proof."

The councilor swallowed.

"If the majority believes it… the truth becomes irrelevant."

Another council member asked quietly,

"Are the families under our authority ready to act?"

The High Councilor nodded.

"They are already mobilized."

He smiled slightly.

"They are simply waiting for our command."

Moments later.

Inside the peaceful territory of the House of El.

The calm of the noble estate was shattered.

Military transports landed across the estate grounds.

Armored soldiers poured out in waves.

They marched directly toward the main residence.

Doors burst open.

Soldiers stormed the halls.

Servants and researchers fled in panic.

At the center of the estate, Kara stood in the main corridor as soldiers flooded into the building.

Her eyes widened in shock.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" she shouted.

The soldiers continued moving forward.

One officer stepped forward calmly.

"We are here under the authority of the Kryptonian Council."

He raised a sealed order.

"We have come to apprehend Von-Ra El."

Kara froze.

"For rebellion."

Her eyes widened in disbelief.

"What?!"

"That's impossible!"

"My brother would never—"

The officer calmly activated a holographic display.

"This is the evidence."

The projection showed documents, communications, and supply records.

Everything pointed toward a massive conspiracy.

Kara stared at it.

"No… this is wrong…"

Her voice trembled.

"My brother would never do something like this."

Behind her, footsteps approached calmly.

Von-Ra stepped forward.

His expression was completely calm.

He looked at Kara.

"It's alright."

She turned to him in shock.

"Brother—"

Von-Ra placed a hand on her shoulder.

His voice remained steady.

"Ruby."

The small artificial intelligence appeared beside him.

"Yes, Master."

"Inform Mother about what has happened."

Ruby nodded.

"Understood."

The officer gestured to his soldiers.

They stepped forward.

Metal restraints locked around Von-Ra's wrists.

Kara clenched her fists.

"Don't you dare touch him!"

Von-Ra shook his head gently.

"Kara."

She froze.

"Don't."

His voice was calm.

"This was inevitable."

The soldiers escorted him away.

Later…

Inside the grand Council Hall of Krypton.

Von-Ra stood alone at the center of the massive chamber.

Rows of council members looked down at him from above.

The High Councilor spoke.

"Von-Ra El."

His voice echoed through the chamber.

"You stand accused of conspiracy and rebellion against Krypton's ruling authority."

Von-Ra remained silent.

The High Councilor leaned forward slightly.

"Are you not going to say anything in your defense?"

Von-Ra finally looked up.

His golden eyes were calm.

"What is the point of defending myself?"

The chamber quieted.

"If you have already decided that I am guilty."

Several council members smirked.

They were clearly amused.

This trial was nothing more than theater.

Then—

BOOM!

A massive explosion shook the council chamber.

The ground trembled.

Dust fell from the ceiling.

Council members panicked.

"What was that?!"

Another loud BANG echoed outside.

Then a thunderous voice roared from beyond the chamber doors.

"OLD COOTS!"

The massive doors burst open.

Standing at the entrance was Dru-Zod.

Behind him stood rows of heavily armed soldiers from the House of Zod.

Zod's eyes burned with fury.

"ARE YOU MAD?!"

The council members froze.

Zod stepped forward.

"Did you really think forging fake evidence would make us crawl into a corner?!"

The High Councilor slammed his staff against the floor.

"General Zod!"

"Cease this madness immediately!"

Zod laughed coldly.

"Madness?"

"You are the ones who started this."

The High Councilor's voice hardened.

"If you continue this attack… you will implicate every house under your command."

Zod's expression became savage.

"You think I fear your threats?"

He pointed toward Von-Ra.

"My family is already prepared to die if it means ensuring the safety of Von-Ra El."

The chamber fell silent.

The High Councilor slowly stood.

"So be it, General Zod."

His voice became ice.

"Your will… is my command."

He raised his hand.

"House of Val."

"House of Zel."

"House of Zek."

"House of Al."

"House of Ul."

"House of Tar."

"House of Ru."

His voice thundered across the chamber.

"Bring me the heads of the House of Zod… and all their allies."

For one brief moment…

The hall stood silent.

Then weapons ignited.

Energy rifles roared.

Blades clashed.

Soldiers surged forward.

The Council Hall of Krypton erupted into war.
