Carter rubbed his chin in deep thoughts. He obviously couldn't pick Terror Form. That would make it difficult for him to wear other skins. Possession was a nice ability but not really that useful for Carter at the moment.
He set his eyes on the skills. Bite and Dog Fight were obviously designed for canine species so he ignored them.
'I pick Level 3 Perception!'

Carter didn't feel any different at all.
The Skin System did not have a status window. But the Prime System had so Carter turned that on.
'Let me see if there is any difference when I wear other skins.'
[SYSTEM GHOST EQUIPPED]
Carter transformed into the faceless man. Luckily, he didn't grow four additional eyes like the Wolf. However, he still had its 360 degree vision and much higher perceptive capability.
'I see… The retained power will be applied for every skin.'
[ELDRITCH KNIGHT EQUIPPED]
Carter transformed back into the Eldritch Knight. He was the white swordsman again. However, the swordsman was even more powerful than last time.
Because now, nothing could escape his eyes.
'How strong… If I gain enough power, I will be unstoppable!'
He gained more understanding about how the Skin System worked. Now he wanted to test the Skin Fusion and Skin Graft.
'Logically speaking… I already absorbed Terror Wolf's power. I can graft it to another skin. But I also have another Terror Wolf. I keep it to try and use the Skin Fusion later.
Terror Man is very strong with its Terror Force. But it is kind of useless. Let's try to graft it onto another Terror Skin.'
Carter opened up the Skin System again. Along with the original red hammer of Skin Forge, there was a vortex for Skin Fusion, and a boulder for Skin Graft.
Carter opened the Skin Graft window. A stone plate appeared.

Carter put the Terror Man in.

Carter thought for a while and picked Terror Creeper.
Then the animation started. The Terror Man showed up as a card. It was placed onto the boulder and burned. Its powers travelled to the Terror Creeper.

Carter checked the details of Terror Creeper again. It had a new ability. It was Terror Force. The ability was transferred to Terror Creeper with exact similarities. However, it had no increase in Rank or Star Level at all.
'I see… So with Skin Graft, I can build the perfect Terror ever.'
[TERROR CREEPER EQUIPPED]
Carter transformed into the creeper. The creeper was a humanoid creature with their limbs twisted backwards.
It dashed on the highway. The creeper was fast. Much faster than any Mortal being could reach.
'So this is the power of an Awaken Free-Running power…'
Carter got off the highway and returned to the city, where most of the Terrors resided. He transformed back to the Eldritch Knight and continued his hunt.
Eldritch Knight's Synchronization was 65.8%. It was the second skin that came close to max Synchronization.
There was no lack of Terrors in the city. Every corner had at least two or three Terrors lurking. However, with each kill, the number of Terrors decreases forever. Different from the Invokers, Carter could kill them for good by turning them into Skin Shards.
Carter found a group of Terrors scratching a door of a house. The door was almost broken. There were people inside the house.
A man used a golf club to bash the Terror through the holes on the wall. But it was useless. They continued tearing down the door piece by piece.
"Goddammit man! We should have barricaded the door!" A man said.
"Can't help it now. We must survive until sunrise!"
The men inside the house tried their best to defend themselves. But they all knew that they were going to die soon.
A Terror broke through the door and got inside. It screamed at the humans.
"Shit!"
Suddenly, a hand reached out from behind the door and grabbed the Terror. Carter pulled it outside and threw it on the other Terrors.
The men froze as they saw a swordsman in white. He slowly unsheathed his sword. Then, his arm moved in a blur.
They couldn't see his strikes, only hear the sound of his blade splitting wind.
Within a couple minutes, all the Terrors were chopped into pieces.
'Clink!' Carter sheathed the sword gracefully.

Carter turned toward the humans, "You should find a safer place to hide. This house is compromised."
The man with the golf club nodded, "There is a hideout nearby. It is air tight so the Terror won't be able to slip through."
Carter nodded. He then squatted down to collect the Skin Shards.

"Come with me. I will escort you to the hideout."
"Yes, sir!"
The men gathered and walked with Carter. The man with the golf club walked in the front to show them the way.
"Are you an Invoker, sir?" A man said.
Carter shook his head, "I am an Eldritch Knight."
"What is an Eldritch Knight?" A man said.
Then a skinner man with glasses spoke up, "Wait a minute. I saw in some history book that there was a race of warriors that used to fight alongside Invokers in the past! I thought they were only a myth!"
The men talked amongst each other, realizing that they were witnessing legend with their own eyes.
There was a reason why Carter exposed himself. He had also learned of these legends. According to his research, they were truly fabricated. A perfect cover for Carter to slide in and take that as his background.
