The courtyard didn't calm down, it followed us because once Huan walked into the forge, the academy collectively decided productivity was optional, and watching was mandatory. The furnace roared, not politely, but like it had opinions.
"Too cold." Huan said immediately.
"It is actively on fire." Ben said.
"Too cold." Huan repeated.
He stepped forward and adjusted the airflow with two movements. The flame changed, and the colour shifted as the heat spiked.
"Oh." Logan muttered from the doorway.
"That's not normal."Aiden stirred.
"No." I said. "It's him."
Students packed the entrance, and instructors too, even Kael didn't pretend he wasn't watching.
"Pay attention." Huan said, not looking back. "All of you."
They did, immediately.
"Metal is honest." Huan continued. "People aren't. and metal tells you when you are wrong."
"I FEEL PERSONALLY ATTACKED-"Riko whispered loudly.
"You should."Ben pulled him back.
