Nyraxis quietly moved a few hundred feet to the right in order to absorb mana in peace while giving Calux some space in between so he could train.
Calux looked at void questioningly.
"So, how do you suggest I start?"
"Master, you have two affinities, both extremely rare and although the Apex Network does not denote the quality of your affinity, I can tell you have perfect affinity for both of them thanks to your bloodline."
"Void however will always be treated first, you should understand the basics of the void before you move to understanding Space."
Calux nodded thoughtfully, in truth he didn't care how he started, all he cared about at this point in time was results.
"So I should start by understanding the void, sounds good, but... How do I start?"
Calux could not look at Void in the face because of his embarrassment.
Void however, didn't care at all.
"Master, just sit down on a meditative state, clear your mind out of your thoughts, and focus on feeling the threads that connect you to nature, you should feel two distinct ones, one being space, and the other the void."
"I could tell you my thoughts on both of them, since I understand them but that would only be detrimental to you, for you to progress you need to find and understand the affinities yourself."
Nodding in understanding, Calux decided to follow the instructions.
He sat down and crossed his legs.
Slowly he cleared his mind and stopped thinking about his rush to catch up to the others, his anxiety to become better, his questions about his origins.
Finally, his mind was clear.
He could feel a connection on the outside world, something that called to him in a way that a child calls to his parents.
It wanted to be used, wielded, understood.
Feeling the threads, he could feel and see spiritually a purple thread and a white one.
The void was entirely purple, while space was white.
He ignored the white threads for now and focused on the purple ones.
What is the void...
He could feel it, but at the same time he couldn't.
It felt as if there was nothing there.
Trying to focus more on the threads he could feel a heaviness coming from them, as if it was something extremely dangerous but at the same time he felt familiarity to it.
He reached out to grab one of the threads, but something unexpected happened, his hand suddenly disappeared into nothingness.
He felt no pain, but he could feel that his hand had lost its connection to his body.
When he came back to his senses, Void could only laugh.
"Well it seems you understand that you can't casually touch the void at this stage can you?"
He snapped his fingers, and the void that had originally taken his hand, retracted and his hand returned.
He could now feel his hand once again, but he instinctively felt some fear for this element.
It's dangerous.
Although scared, he felt excited, he could now understand why the Void Slash said it was unblockable.
Thinking about what had just happened he noticed certain things about this element.
The void felt cold and but it also felt like nothingness.
It felt like it was present but not at the same time.
When his hand disappeared, he felt no pain.
He just felt the absence of it.
"The void means absence and erasure."
"The void is what remains, when something ceases to exist."
After speaking these words, he could feel a connection to his void affinity getting stronger by the second.
"Well done..."
Void was pleasantly surprised at how quick Calux understood the basics of the Void, even if he had to loose his hand for it.
"Although this is just the barebones, it's good that you understand."
"Know that even as the Sovereign of the Void, until you perfectly master your affinities, you cannot casually touch it."
"You can wield it yes, the void obeys you like a child obeys its parents. But the void..."
Void suddenly stopped talking.
"I almost blurted out something that could negatively impact you, these things should be understood by you alone with time."
Calux finally understood what he meant.
If Void would have casually said anything, he might of not have the chance to understand it on his own, and this might negatively impact him on the long run.
Okay so let's think about my skills, to see if I can understand the void better because of it.
Both my void skills use a mix of space and void, so lets just think about one and try to figure stuff out from there.
I have to assume that the reason as to why void steps can ignore space locks is because using the void, I destroy or erase lock while also mildly teleporting in the direction I chose.
Do I lock onto a position in space and erase the distance using the void?
Although I do not yet understand space, I feel that this is somewhat how it works.
Thinking about this, he felt he was onto something, and perhaps he was on the right track.
Perhaps once I understand space as well this will make a little more sense...
If void is absence, then that means that void erases.
If void erases, that means that in theory when I activate my skill void slash against an opponent, the limb won't get cut off.
The space between my cut, the limb and the body will just cease to exist.
This is insane...
I would have never thought that an element could be so overpowered.
While Calux was thinking about these things excitedly, Void who could listen to his thoughts couldn't help but be amazed.
One had to understand, that to just state the fact that void is absence is not enough to understand it.
But Calux was actually understanding the intricacies of his element, and best of all using his skills to understand the element better.
Most people don't try to understand their innate skills since they are something ingrained as second nature to them.
Calux however, was using his innate skills to think about the effects and after effects to better understand this difficult element.
My current master seems to be a little monster, especially considering he is a never before seen double sovereign...
