No one spoke.
Not after the call.
Not after that voice.
You left me.
It echoed.
Over and over.
Inside my head.
I looked at them.
Emily.
Noah.
Sarah.
Ryan.
For the first time—
We all looked the same.
Not strong.
Not in control.
Just…
afraid.
"That was him," Emily whispered.
No one denied it.
Because no one could.
"No," Noah said suddenly.
Too fast.
"That's not possible."
I looked at him.
"You heard it."
"That doesn't mean it was him!" he snapped.
"It could be anyone—it could be someone messing with us—"
"He said we left him."
Silence.
Because that wasn't public.
That wasn't known.
Only us.
Ryan crossed his arms.
"This changes nothing."
I turned slowly.
"Are you serious?"
"Yes."
"He's alive."
"And?"
That hit wrong.
"And?" I repeated.
"He's been watching us. He just called me—"
"And he hasn't gone to the police," Ryan cut in.
Silence.
That didn't sit right.
"So what are you saying?" I asked.
He stepped closer.
"I'm saying… if he wanted to destroy us…"
A pause.
"…he already would have."
A chill ran down my spine.
"Then why hasn't he?" Emily whispered.
No one answered.
But we all felt it.
"He's playing with us," Sarah said.
All eyes turned to her.
"What do you mean?" Noah asked.
She took a slow breath.
"He wants us to feel it."
A pause.
"The fear. The guilt. The waiting."
My chest tightened.
"That's sick."
"No," she said quietly.
"It's personal."
Silence.
Because she was right.
This wasn't revenge.
This was control.
"He's not coming for us," I said slowly.
They all looked at me.
"He wants us to break first."
No one argued.
Because it made too much sense.
"Lucas."
Emily's voice.
Soft.
Shaking.
I turned.
Her eyes locked on mine.
"He talked to you."
A pause.
"Not us."
I felt it instantly.
"What are you saying?"
She hesitated.
Then—
"I think he's coming for you first."
Silence.
Heavy.
Because deep down…
I already knew.
"Why me?" I asked.
No one answered.
But then—
"You started it," Ryan said.
My jaw tightened.
"You don't know that."
"I do."
He stepped closer.
"You hit him."
Another step.
"You pushed him."
Closer.
"You left him."
"And you?" I snapped.
Silence.
That was new.
Ryan didn't answer.
Didn't react.
Just watched me.
"You're not innocent either," I said.
"None of you are."
Emily looked down.
Noah clenched his fists.
Sarah stayed still.
And then—
Ryan smiled.
"You're right."
That caught me off guard.
"But there's a difference."
"What?"
He leaned in slightly.
"I don't regret it."
Silence.
"What?"
"I did what had to be done."
"That's not—"
"He was going to ruin everything," Ryan cut in.
"All of us."
Emily shook her head.
"Stop…"
"No," Ryan continued.
"He deserved it."
"That's not true!" she cried.
"Isn't it?"
Silence.
Because something deeper was surfacing.
Something worse.
"What did he do?" I asked.
No answer.
Again.
Always the same.
"WHAT DID HE DO?!"
And then—
Emily broke.
"He knew."
Everything stopped.
"Knew what?"
Her breathing was uneven.
"About us."
My chest tightened.
"What does that mean?"
She looked at Ryan.
Then back at me.
And said it—
"He knew about me and Ryan."
Silence.
Complete.
"What…?"
My voice barely came out.
"He found out before that night," she said.
Fragments exploded in my head.
Rain.
Shouting.
Betrayal.
"I trusted you…" I whispered.
Emily closed her eyes.
"I never meant to hurt you…"
But she did.
They all did.
"So that's it?" I said.
"This all started because of that?"
"No," Ryan said.
I looked at him.
"It started because he couldn't stay quiet."
That tone—
Cold.
Dangerous.
"What did he do?" I asked again.
Ryan didn't answer immediately.
Instead—
He smiled.
And that smile…
Was wrong.
"He didn't just know," Ryan said slowly.
My heart started racing.
"What do you mean?"
Silence.
Then—
"He recorded it."
Everything stopped.
"What?"
"A video," Ryan said.
A pause.
"Of all of us."
The world tilted.
"No…"
"He said he was going to expose everything."
Emily started crying again.
"He was going to ruin our lives…"
And just like that—
Everything changed.
This wasn't just a fight.
This wasn't just anger.
This was desperation.
Fear.
Survival.
And suddenly—
That night didn't feel like a mistake anymore.
It felt like something planned.
🖤 Poem — Emily
I loved in silence
where truth couldn't stay
I lied just to survive
and lost you that way
and the past we created…
won't fade away
