I walked back to the bench and sat down.
"So, what did you have in mind that made you invite me out, Fiona?" I said coldly, glancing at her.
Fiona glanced at me and sat beside me.
"Well, you know Ridges Bar is just a mile away," Fiona said with a smirk.
"Do you mean we're going to a bar?" Jadon asked, rubbing her palms together.
"Yup and we're also going to drink. What do you think about it, Lex?" Fiona asked, glancing at me.
"Anything's fine with me," I said coldly.
"Ok, so let's get going," Fiona said, standing up.
"Are we going to the VIP room or staying at the ground level?" Eliza asked, raising her brows.
"Is that even a question, Eliza?" Fiona asked, raising her brows back.
"I'm just asking," Eliza said, shrugging.
I reached into my handbag and took out a cat costume.
"Here, Fiona. Keep it or do whatever you want with it," I said, tossing it to her.
Fiona caught it and looked at it with raised brows.
"Ooh, what's that?" Catherine said cutely, leaning forward.
"A cat costume," I said coldly, leaning back against the bench.
"And why did you give it to me?" Fiona asked.
"I don't need it, so I gave it to you. Is that enough of an answer for you?" I said coldly, narrowing my eyes.
"Yup… totally," Fiona said, stepping back slightly.
Catherine suddenly snatched the costume from Fiona's hands and held it tightly.
"I want it. Give it to me," Catherine said, hiding it behind her back.
"Why bother asking after snatching it already?" Jadon muttered under her breath.
"What did you say, Jadon?" Catherine asked, narrowing her eyes with a creepy smile.
"Nothing, weirdo," Jadon scoffed.
"You can have it, Catherine. After all, I don't have any use for it, so keep it," Fiona said with a sigh.
"Why do you even have this thing in your bag?" Eliza asked, raising her brows.
I glanced at her coldly for a few seconds, then looked away.
Eliza froze on the spot, fear flashing in her eyes.
"I took it from someone," I said.
"And if I'm guessing right, it's from Jace," Fiona said with a smirk.
"Why confirm something you already know the answer to?" I said coldly.
"Wait, I'm lost. How did you know it's from Jace?" Catherine asked, tilting her head.
"Are you naturally stupid, or are you just faking it?" Jadon said with disgust.
"Repeat that again, Jadon, and I promise I won't beat you so badly your mother won't even recognize you," Catherine snapped, raising her fists.
"Would you guys behave yourselves and stop acting like toddlers?" Fiona said, glaring at them.
Catherine shrank back and hid behind Jadon.
"So, why did you take it from Jace?" Fiona asked, turning to me.
"It's from my mom's ex-husband," I said coldly, clenching my fist.
"Oh, you mean that worthless bastard," Jadon said, leaning toward me.
I looked at her and nodded.
"How did it get into your brother's hands?" Fiona asked.
"He found it in his wardrobe—probably placed there by my mother," I said mockingly.
"Ah! I'm sure Aunty Emma got scolded really badly by you. I feel sorry for her," Jadon said with a smirk.
"As if it's the first time Lexy has scolded her," Fiona added with a sly smile.
"How did Jace feel when you took the costume?" Fiona asked.
"Sad, like any normal child would be," Eliza said with a scoff.
"Yeah… it's only our Lexy that's abnormal," Fiona said with a smirk.
