Chapter 24 - 24

"Let's find a way to get up there. I suspect someone is orchestrating all of this, and there must be some secret in that building." Eddie looked up; those guys were truly annoying.

Svetlana stood up, tidied her clothes, and her beautiful eyes surveyed the surroundings, looking for a place to climb. "Your strength has increased a lot. Ordinary adult men rarely have such great strength. Just that one blow, it was enough to break your arm, yet you're completely fine."

"So you're curious? My secrets won't be shared with anyone else." Eddie smiled, offering no explanation. The less people knew about the T-Virus, the better. If it were a true T-Virus enhancement, he would have superhuman strength by now, not just being very strong.

"Suit yourself. Now you make the decision; your little girlfriend is still up there." Svetlana curled her lips into a cold smile.

"You wouldn't treat your savior like this, would you?" Eddie was a bit speechless.

Svetlana suddenly lowered her head, "You don't understand my pursuit. Before my dream is fulfilled, everything else is like a fleeting cloud. I will try my best to meet any demands you have. What a mercenary can do, I can also do."

Eddie knew what Svetlana's so-called dream was, but things on that level were beyond his control. It wasn't just about fighting zombies; it had escalated to conflicts between regions, a level where he was powerless.

"If you ever need my help, you can tell me. Even if I can't help you, I can still ensure your safety," Eddie said calmly.

Svetlana was a little surprised, as if her inner thoughts had been seen through. "If that day ever comes, no one will be able to help."

Eddie tried climbing. Wearing specialized climbing claw gloves, he could easily scale the mountain wall. "Let's go. I'll carry you. We don't have time for romance here."

Svetlana snorted, "Go to hell!" She said that, but still followed his instructions.

After five minutes, Eddie carried Svetlana back to the ground, and not far ahead, the large building covered in vines was the dilapidated sanatorium.

Some Zombie Dogs, infected crows, and mutated bees were flying low, trying to attack the living people hiding in the building. To these bioweapons, those living people were delicious food! As for rotting zombies, they were like dog poop; they would never eat them unless starving to death.

Bang! Bang! Bang! A large number of gunshots also came from the abandoned sanatorium, suggesting intense fighting was taking place.

"The best option now is to retreat. If you're unwilling, then we can only go into the abandoned building and rely on it to fight back," Svetlana analyzed calmly.

"If your boyfriend were inside, would you still retreat without hesitation?" Eddie suddenly asked.

"I don't fancy men who can't beat me. Also, you're talking too much." Svetlana frowned. She really didn't like discussing this topic.

"It's fine. I know Jill and the others aren't in serious trouble. We just need to eliminate these things outside," Eddie said with a smile.

Bang, bang, bang! Gunshots also came from a distance, and it seemed another group of people had encountered a zombie attack. The Arklay Mountains at night was the active time for bio-monsters.

On the other side, Echo Six Team scouts Sienna and Caroline, who had followed them, encountered Zombie Dogs and a large number of tourists who had been attacked and turned into zombies.

Caroline, a fierce warrior with Native American blood, fired without thinking.

Sienna knew this would expose their position, but life was only once; survive first! "Come on, you bastards, taste my big gun!" After saying that, she pulled out her modified sniper rifle and used a no-scope shot, a one-shot kill!

Not far away, Ada, who initially didn't want to follow, finally couldn't overcome her curiosity and came along. Driving an SUV, she hadn't anticipated how dangerous the Arklay Mountains would be at night; even her car door was dented by Zombie Dogs.

"Damn it, these bastards!" Ada cursed crudely, pulling out her modified pistol and blowing a Zombie Dog's head off.

Eddie, rushing over, clearly spotted the two Echo Team members. As expected, he pulled out his submachine gun and, with the help of infrared night vision goggles, entered sniper mode, one shot per Zombie Dog, one bullet directly blowing a zombie's head off!

"Duck!" Eddie shouted, then unhesitatingly threw two grenades.

Boom! The grenades exploded to the left and right, not far from the vehicle, blowing away all the surrounding zombies. Some strange moving creatures also began to approach.

"Hi, handsome, we meet again." Sienna greeted him cheerfully. Since they couldn't hide, they might as well greet him openly.

"You're really a crazy woman. You don't need to follow me here to chase me, and you even dragged your best friend to her death. Alright, I'm not joking with you anymore. I saved your life, so remember to treat me to a burger when you go back. Now hurry up and leave, don't stay here, crazy woman!" Eddie teased her before changing his magazine.

"Hey, I'm not chasing you. You're thinking too much." Sienna wouldn't admit it. She was a beautiful socialite who manipulated elites and council members of high society to gather intelligence, not some low-class goods comparable to those who sell their bodies!

"Alright, alright, two special forces members, hurry up and leave. There's nothing worth exploring here. We can talk about anything later when we get back. You don't understand these monsters at all. Go back, do your homework, and then come back!" Eddie waved his hand, urging the two women to leave quickly, and even threw a flashlight to them.

"Wait, take this!" The silent combat expert Caroline pulled out a single-soldier rocket-propelled grenade from the SUV.

This might sound confusing, but both old and new players know that in the world of Resident Evil, nothing a single RPG can't solve. If there is, it's two!

Eddie was a bit dumbfounded. He never expected this quiet woman to carry such a terrifying weapon!

"Not enough? There are three more warheads here. Use them sparingly. Party girl, let's go." Caroline didn't say names, but called out their respective codenames in the team.

"We're leaving, thanks for bailing us out, handsome. Don't think I'm chasing you. When we get back to Raccoon City, I'll treat you to a meal." Sienna stomped on the gas and sped off. Leaving now was truly the wise choice. If she stayed any longer, she couldn't guarantee she'd make it back alive.

.

Chapter 39: Ada Discovered!

This Native American beauty was truly fierce; her thank-you gift was a single-soldier rocket launcher plus three warheads! With such a powerful weapon, why didn't she use it immediately?

After traveling some distance, scout Sienna stopped again. "This distance should be enough, right? Let's gather some intelligence to report back."

"This distance is enough!" Caroline was the first to jump out of the car. As soon as she got out, a Zombie Dog quickly ran towards her and pounced.

Swish! The dagger didn't even flash in the night. Caroline sidestepped, and using the momentum of the Zombie Dog's pounce, she chopped off its head.

One strike, one kill, and at close range! As the strongest combatant in the Echo Six Team, Caroline's record wasn't just talk; it was forged through real training on the border.

The Echo Six Team was one of the few special forces units that could suppress the Navy SEALs. Otherwise, they wouldn't have annihilated five berserk Tyrants, who had shed their military coats, in battle and emerged unscathed. The ones who died tragically were members of other units, completely unrelated to them.

Sienna seemed accustomed to Caroline's combat prowess. She put on her specialized sunglasses, and every creature was within her sight. "Dare to attack me, go to hell, die for me!"

Thud! Her delicate finger pulled the trigger, and a sniper rifle bullet directly blew a mutated giant bullfrog into smithereens.

Svetlana on the other side was a bit stunned. "Those two women weren't as weak as they seemed, especially the one who gave you the rocket launcher; she's very strong in combat."

"I know, I felt it too. They were sent by the military, though I don't know what they're doing here. But letting them leave quickly won't delay our plans," Eddie explained, shouldering the forty-pound rocket launcher as if it weighed nothing.

"It's your business, not mine. I'm just a bodyguard," Svetlana retorted. Although curious, she wouldn't dwell on vague matters like other women. Eddie smiled without answering. This woman would one day hold the highest power in a region, and she was the first female leader in history, not so easily fooled. He turned to look into the distance, as if he had discovered something.

Ada, wearing ten-centimeter high heels, could walk on uneven terrain as if it were flat, with two Zombie Dogs chasing her from behind. Humans cannot outrun canines; to survive, she had to confront them head-on.

Bang! Ada turned and fired, accurately wounding one Zombie Dog, but injury only enraged the Zombie Dogs, making them more frantic.

Thud! Ada felt the stench from behind getting closer. She leaped onto a large tree, then spun in mid-air, her high heel directly smashing a Zombie Dog's head!

She landed with a perfect spinning kick, her right hand placed on her right knee joint, forming a perfect triangular aiming stance.

Bang! She fired again, killing the Zombie Dog that was trying to turn back. A perfect two-on-one counter-kill!

Just as Ada breathed a sigh of relief, a bioweapon monster, a Hunter, a creature resembling a cross between a lizard and a human, rushed over from the side.

Eddie sprinted at full speed, covering thirty meters in just three seconds. He pulled Ada away, clenched his gloved right hand into a fist, and then punched directly, sending the nearly three-hundred-pound Hunter flying.

Ada once again felt as if she had walked through the gates of hell. That man had saved her again! According to the usual trajectory, she would never have appeared in the Arklay Mountains. Without a thorough understanding of bioweapons, she would have found it difficult to calmly deal with these monsters.
