Chapter 36 - 36

Ding! The instrument chimed, indicating that Ada's cell solution was ready. The pale blue serum flowed quietly in the test tube. Derived from the Progenitor Virus, this serum was more stable than the original Progenitor Virus.

Eddie picked up the serum. This was pure T-Virus, highly diluted, yet he had added a larger quantity compared to what he had used before. Ada's injuries were severe; besides clearing toxins from her blood, her internal injuries also needed to be repaired, and a normal human dosage would be far from enough.

"Lunch is ready, Eddie. You need to rest a bit, don't push yourself too hard!" Ada, a faint smile on her pretty face, walked in on ten-centimeter heels, carrying a stack of plates. Each plate held a cooked, heart-shaped steak.

"No need. While the inspiration is still here, I can't rest," Eddie said, grabbing a steak and beginning to eat. He barely tasted it, consuming it only to replenish his energy. He then chugged a bottle of invigorating nutrient solution before turning back to his work at the experimental bench, finishing his meal in under two minutes.

For some reason, Ada looked at him with a touch of heartache. The man's hair was a bit disheveled, his eyes bloodshot, and he had a scruffy beard. Theoretically, he looked terrible. Yet, Ada found the man incredibly pleasing to her eyes. Perhaps this was friendship? So this is what a friend feels like.

He took out the serum vaccine again, and after adding the modified vaccine, the serum began to boil. Eddie knew the most critical moment had arrived. Fifteen seconds after boiling, he had to add the sunflower. This was a material he had worked very hard to obtain, and using it on Ada was certainly worth it.

By evening, Eddie, who had managed a short nap, went to wash up and shave. The serum potion was completely ready. Now, all that was left was to return to Raccoon City.

"Ada, we need to go to Umbrella's underground laboratory. That's where they have the specialized equipment," Eddie said to Ada, who was reading a book.

Ada still held the book Alex often read. "You like reading these kinds of books?"

"No, those are the books my girlfriend likes to read," Eddie said, not elaborating, but only stating half the truth.

"Alright, you've worked hard. Let's go," Ada said, still smiling.

The two arrived in Raccoon City by helicopter. At this time, Sergei had already set off to find Marcus and, while he was at it, to check on the progress of the Talos Project's prototype cultivation at the Mansion.

Bio-weapons cannot withstand steel bodies; flesh and blood cannot compare to a torrent of steel. Anyone who compares the two must be a true 'expert'.

In the laboratory, Eddie began the final adjustments. "Ada, get into that cryogenic tank. It might take a while. You don't have anything else to do, do you? Also, go to the bathroom first."

Ada gave Eddie an exasperated glare. Asking a beautiful woman to go to the bathroom—it sounded a bit strange no matter how she heard it.

Ada untied her high heels, her jade feet stepping into the cold experimental chamber. Closing her beautiful eyes, she waited, hoping that her poison problem could be resolved. She swore that if she could solve the poison issue, she would make Tricell pay a heavy price.

As the experimental chamber closed, Eddie began the adjustments. He needed to ensure Ada's stability and carefully observe the serum's changes to see if Ada could absorb it.

In a cold state, the T-Virus's activity would drop to its lowest, allowing the body's cells enough time to adapt. The modified agent would also allow the immune system to react to the T-Virus, preventing rejection. During the agent's active period, once the cells fused with the T-Virus, the immune system would no longer reject it, considering the serum as part of itself.

Click! Eddie lit a cigarette. The burning cigarette helped him regain some focus. It seemed that after the Raccoon City crisis, he would have to establish a company to conduct legitimate business. Only with money could he build the most advanced laboratories for serum research. Currently, he was still a long way from achieving immortality.

At Spencer's Mansion in the Arklay Mountains, Sergei arrived with two Ivan-type Tyrants. Outside the Mansion, seven or eight Zombie Dogs lay scattered, their heads undoubtedly smashed by brute force, and two others cut by sharp blades.

"Hmph! It seems the Chairman was right. I'm old; I don't understand the conspiracies these people are playing," Sergei sneered, looking at the smashed Zombie Dogs.

There were still staff inside the Mansion, and the security here was very strict. Even Marcus wouldn't attack here without certainty. The Leech Queen, who inherited Marcus's memories, knew very well that humans were very cunning; it had to be a decisive success, otherwise, if it failed once, the next attack would be very difficult, and he would also expose his whereabouts.

In the underground laboratory, the completion of the prototypes was confirmed; they would be ready in about another month, at which point they could be transferred.

"Accelerate the cultivation progress. I want to shorten the time to one month," Sergei ordered the Mansion's person in charge.

Leaving the Mansion and arriving at the Executive Training Center, Sergei immediately noticed something unusual. It seemed the Executive Training Center had become a gathering place for zombies, and besides that, there were some strange things: sticky leeches!

"Heh heh, someone else has come to visit. Who are you! What are you doing here?" The young Marcus immediately noticed Sergei, especially the Umbrella insignia on his shoulder, which filled him with immense anger.

"Oh? Someone actually is here. Where is Marcus? Call him out," Sergei said, showing no fear, constantly tossing a strange blade in his right hand.

"You're from Umbrella? Hmph, you're going to die here!" Marcus snorted, and the door opened, two Leech-men, composed of leeches, walked out.

"Oh? You want to fight me? Come on, let's exchange a few blows?" Sergei was trembling all over, not from fear, but from excitement. Finally, he could have a fight. Who the opponent was didn't matter; he just wanted to fight to his heart's content, and then discuss other things afterward.

Chapter 57: Ada, Who Ran Away After Getting Her Benefits

The Ivan-type Tyrants gave no quarter. Two Tyrants, one carrying a fuel tank, the other a bullet canister. As the Leech-men advanced, the flamethrowers instantly activated, burning the two Leech-men, who screamed incessantly. Countless leeches fell off, writhing on the ground, but the continuous flames roasted them alive, emitting a foul smell of burnt flesh!

Marcus watched, exceptionally enraged. "You dare to harm my children! I will kill all of you!"

The enraged Marcus unleashed a large number of bio-monsters from the Executive Training Center to deal with the two Ivan-type Tyrants. Marcus himself ran quickly, leaping down from a height of ten meters, completely disregarding the impact of the landing.

Thud! Marcus and Sergei exchanged a punch. Sergei was forced back, while Marcus was directly shattered by the immense force!

Sergei's strength could punch through a thirty-centimeter thick steel plate with his bare hands, which Marcus could not withstand.

"Huh! Leech-man? Interesting!" Sergei sneered, shaking his slightly numb arm, then lifted his shoe and stomped hard, crushing the leech.

The distant leeches reassembled into Marcus's form. "All Umbrella people must die! Everyone must die!"

Marcus roared, his voice a mix of male and female, sending shivers down one's spine. He began to vomit continuously, spewing out large amounts of mucus and many leeches. The next second, Marcus merged with a large number of leeches, transforming into a giant crawling monster.

Da da da! The Ivan-type Tyrant immediately turned around, its right hand's Gatling gun spinning rapidly. This blue-light Gatling, firing five thousand rounds per minute, could even pierce a tank!

The Leech monster was continuously forced back, with some leeches falling off every time a bullet hit. However, an endless supply of leeches replenished it from behind. Gradually, Marcus's skin was covered in a layer of mucus, and the bullets' kinetic energy was nullified by the slippery exterior.

Regaining his footing, Marcus began to run rapidly, his swift movements dodging the Gatling's attacks. In the blink of an eye, he was in front of the Tyrant. With a raised hand, his claws struck the Tyrant, sending it flying, even tearing its restraining coat and knocking off a large chunk of flesh.

In just one encounter, the Ivan-type Tyrant was severely wounded! A normal person would have been killed instantly, or at least had their bones shattered.

The other Ivan-type Tyrant used its flamethrower to incinerate Marcus. Marcus, who was not afraid of bullets, was exceptionally afraid of flames. No creature is unafraid of flames; prolonged exposure to fire will kill any living thing.

Thud! Sergei, who had charged forward at some unknown point, delivered a standard knee strike that sent Marcus flying. The blade in his hand spun rapidly, leaving deep, bone-exposing wounds on Marcus's body.

While Sergei and Marcus were battling, Wesker also arrived at the Raccoon City underground laboratory to find William. He was very curious about the effects of the G-Virus.

He passed Eddie's laboratory and saw that someone was using it. Could it be that Eddie? That guy was one of the few people Wesker couldn't see through. The arrogant Wesker could even exploit his decade-long friendship with William; everyone else was merely a pawn in his game.

After some thought, Wesker decided not to investigate. Before leaving Umbrella, he didn't want any more complications. Otherwise, if Sergei targeted him again, his life would become even more difficult.

In the laboratory, Eddie was reviewing reports related to the Antarctic Research Facility. He was a bit annoyed with William, precisely because of William Birkin's jealousy, which led to no one being sent to retrieve the Veronica Virus even after Alexia's apparent death.

If one were to say which serum was the most potent, Veronica was the most explosive. Besides its fifteen-year cycle, once perfectly fused, ordinary weapons would have no effect on her, unless a nuclear bomb was used!

Just as he was considering whether to find an opportunity to collect other serum data later, the cryogenic chamber suddenly opened. A wave of cold air emerged, significantly lowering the temperature of the entire laboratory.

Ada took her first step, awakening from her slumber. She didn't know how long she had been asleep. Now that she was awake, she felt great. Her body used to have a dull ache, but it was completely gone now, though she felt quite hungry.

"Ada, you're awake. A bit earlier than I expected, good. Come and eat something. I've prepared a lot of food in advance, you must be very hungry," Eddie said with a smile, handing her a large pile of food. They were all convenient fast foods, not particularly delicious, but good for nutritional replenishment.

Although nutrient solution could provide the necessary nutrients, it couldn't solve the feeling of hunger.

Ada no longer cared about her image and began to devour the food rapidly, completely without grace. She felt incredibly hungry, ravenously so. Despite her body feeling strong, she was still immensely hungry, and in this state, she found it hard to ignore the pile of food in front of her.

Ada finished nearly fifty pounds of food—roasted chicken, steak, burgers, fries, pasta, and other main dishes—in just ten minutes, leaving nothing behind. Only after drinking a large bottle of soda did Ada show a satisfied expression.

"How do you feel?" Eddie asked.

"Excellent, better than ever. I feel full of power, and I want to test it!" Ada said, then went to the testing area. Her strength reached nine hundred pounds, which wasn't extremely exaggerated; it couldn't compare to top-tier bio-weapons like the Tyrants, but for a human, it was terrifying.

Her stamina and endurance had greatly increased; she could run a fifty-kilometer marathon without breaking a sweat or turning red. Her speed was also much swifter, significantly faster than Eddie's.

The toxins in her blood were also devoured by the T-Virus and converted into energy. Her internal injuries were also repaired. An extremely minute amount of T-Virus and the mixed vaccine were absorbed by Ada. If she encountered the vaccine again, she would not experience any discomfort.
