Chapter 14 - Prettiest Hostess

The Embercrown Arsenal didn't have materials when forging a sword—they bought them through their partners: the beastore for beast materials and other agencies that focused on metals.

When a customer commissioned for his personal weapons, rather than buying what the Embercrown Arsenal had displayed, ranging from armors to weapons, they would usually ask them for a design as well as the properties of the product they wanted, leading to specific materials that only the customers could buy.

If the commissioned blacksmith had to be the one to buy the materials, especially in a case where the materials were not available on their stock, the other agency would raise their products, believing it would be in demand.

To prevent controlling the prices, the customer had to buy it themselves. The only downside was the blacksmith might dislike the quality of the material they bought, often leading to constant negotiation between both sides.

Hence, a beast tamer knew that commissioning a specialized weapon for them would be quite a hassle, as most of them would rather buy what was displayed.

Felix has the similar case. Since he wanted his sword to be restored, needing specific materials, he had to provide it to Master Vey.

Master Vey said, "You can have as much time as you want, I'll prioritize restoring your sword as soon as you get the materials. Once you do, just tell the hostess here."

Felix bowed. "You have my deepest gratitude, Master Vey." He handed the sword to Master Vey.

Master Vey accepted it with widened eyes.

He frowned. "Are you sure to leave this to me for the meantime?"

Felix nodded. "Yes. I can order the materials right now."

Master Vey inspected the old rusty dull sword. "Alright, if that's what you want."

Master Vey turned towards Krisha and glanced at her pet on her arms.

She said, "A three star beast on your first summon, huh? You have the potential to surpass your ancestors, Krisha. I wonder if you'll be the first mayoress in Chambers City?"

Krisha sighed. "I don't want to become a mayor."

Master Vey stared at her in silence for a while and asked, "Do you want to search for your mother, right?"

Krisha lowered her head and did not answer.

Master Vey continued, "It's been more than a decade. If you still have not lost hope for another decade, then once you reach the peak of your power, you can enter a space rift and search for your mother.

But, I'm telling you the chances are—"

"I know," Krisha interrupted. She did not want to hear anymore of a reminder.

As long as there's no confirmation of what really happened to her, I'll continue to look for her. She silently resolved.

Master Vey nodded and suddenly bent forward, tilted his head just enough to stare at Krisha's face upside down.

Krisha was greatly startled. She took a step back and glanced at Master Vey in horror.

Master Vey said, "Goodluck."

Krisha grumbled. "Is that how you greet others?"

Master Vey's eyes widened and laughed outloud. He did not reply as he suddenly vanished out of nowhere alongside Felix's sword.

When Felix realized the Flowing Rain Sword was nowhere within him, he began to miss the feeling of grasping its hilt. He sighed.

He turned towards the hostess and said, "Can I have your number to inform you about the update of the materials?"

The hostess beamed a smile. Felix was a person worth building a connection with. Master Vey personally appeared and communicated with him, showing deep interest in his summon.

"Of course." She received Felix's phone and typed her number, saving it as "the prettiest hostess" on Felix's contact.

When Felix received the phone and saw the contact name, he was surprised.

He glanced at her and the hostess winked at him.

Felix smiled awkwardly and unknowingly turned towards Krisha, who was staring at him with a piercing gaze.

He asked, "What?"

Krisha rolled her eyes and turned around, going towards the exit.

"Let's go now. We still have to visit your sister."

Felix was not certain why Krisha acted displeased towards him.

However, one thing for sure, he has to please him somehow, or else she would ignore him until he apologized for a mistake he didn't even know.

As they exited through the parking lot, Felix noticed other people staring at him while mumbling.

They quickly turned around when he glanced at them.

However, it was not only them, others in every direction began to take photos of him while he was not looking at them.

As they arrived in the blue sedan and entered, he quickly opened his phone and as expected, he already saw his photos together with Krisha all over the social media.

Suddenly, a hand grabbed his phone and took it away from him. He turned towards Krisha and before he was able to say something, she said, "Have you forgotten what Father had said?"

Felix frowned. Her father said so many things he could barely remember every word.

Krisha said, "Don't focus too much on the opinion of others about you. Let them think whatever they want. Focus on what you have to do."

Krisha returned the phone and Felix was surprised that it was already on the beaststore app. He glanced at his account and realized it was level 4—giving him access to materials from Unique Fifth Tier Beast and below.

He then swiped downward and saw notification that it cost him ten thousand credits, causing him to almost puke blood.

Thankfully, he had a total of three million and a hundred thousand credits.

While searching for the materials needed for the sword to be restored, Felix said, "Like Father, like daughter. That's why not only the mayor I admired the most, even you, too."

Krisha's eyes widened. She did not expect the words to come out of Felix's mouth. She stared at him and unknowingly fell into a daze.

Felix noticed she'd been staring at him and turned towards her, asking, "What? Is there something in my face?"

Krisha beamed a smile, stunning Felix again.

She said, "Nothing," and turned around, glancing at the windows, enjoying the scenery.

Lucia glanced at the duo through the rearview mirror and warmly smiled.

She was glad that her young miss found a friend that seemed to be the beginning of something far ahead…
