"Watching you, and killing time." Melanie said flatly, her scarlet eyes sweeping over Leticia, who was dressed quite scantily, without a ripple of emotion.
Leticia chuckled, "Do I look that dangerous?"
She was just an ordinary otaku now, not the Demon King anymore, okay? Fighting and killing weren't her true desires.
Melanie nodded naturally. In her eyes, Leticia was undoubtedly the greatest threat to the Human World. If not for the fact that she had already laid down her responsibilities as a hero, only one of them would be left standing right now.
"Speaking of which, you seem to really like acting young." Looking at Melanie, who was wearing a student uniform, with contempt, Leticia expressed that she scoffed at Melanie's attempt to look young.
She was already a grandma in her twenties, yet she shamelessly wore high school student clothes. Shameless.
"Doesn't it look good?" Melanie turned her head to look at the mirror in the room. The girl in the mirror didn't look like she was in her twenties at all.
It was as if time could not leave any traces on her.
"It looks good, of course it looks good." Leticia wasn't saying something she didn't mean; Melanie's outfit was indeed quite nice.
Especially those long legs wrapped in white silk stockings; the level of beauty was enough to make even Leticia feel an itch in her heart.
If only she could lick... No, no, no, how could she have such strange thoughts?
She had to be righteous. Yes, righteous.
"I think so too." Melanie sat on the edge of Leticia's bed. "Your room is very messy."
Leticia's room could simply be called a disaster zone, with all sorts of unidentifiable things scattered everywhere—things like manga books, game controllers, and small parts of alarm clocks.
Perhaps one should be thankful that at least the snack crumbs and packaging bags were in the trash can, and there were no dirty clothes in the room.
Although that was basically all thanks to Luna.
"It's not like you're the one living here. If you don't like it, get lost." Leticia was quite unhappy with Melanie's evaluation.
It wasn't like she begged Melanie to come; she came over without even saying hello, did she really expect a pleasant expression?
Beep, beep, beep... A message sound came from the game.
Leticia turned around, deciding to ignore the annoying person behind her.
Putting on her headphones, she heard her Guild Leader's voice, "Anna, take me through a dungeon."
Although the Guild Leader was rich, her skills were a level below the average player, so every time she ran a dungeon, she liked to summon Leticia to help.
And for this little request from her patron, Leticia naturally wouldn't refuse.
"Endless Abyss? Or Ruined Battlefield?"
"Bloody Sea of Flowers, I need red dye to make clothes." The Guild Leader indicated she had no interest in increasing her combat power.
"Leader, can't you just pass that dungeon with a single skill?" The only problem was that it was a level 50 dungeon, and the Guild Leader was already at the level 70 cap.
Couldn't she pass it with a casual flick of her finger?
"I'm in a bad mood, I want to find someone to talk to." The Guild Leader's voice was very low, as if she hadn't recovered from the news of the Sword Saint's retirement.
Sigh, Leticia rolled her eyes at Melanie without leaving a trace. What kind of charm did this person have that could make a young girl who had never even met her yearn for her so much?
Oh, right, the Sword Saint in the Guild Leader's heart was a towering, heroic, handsome man, not this expressionless, stinky woman Melanie.
"What on earth is the Sword Saint thinking, why did she choose to retire at this time..." The Guild Leader muttered.
After entering the dungeon, the Guild Leader's character just stood there, unmoving. The monsters naturally wouldn't let go of such good prey, so they lunged at the Guild Leader.
"The Sword Saint is a superhero, how would we know what she's thinking? All we can do is understand and bless her. She has a life of her own; being a hero is just a part of her life, isn't it?" Leticia operated her character to slash these combat-level-five monsters one by one, saying things that sounded reasonable but were actually useless.
"Is that what you think too?" A voice that didn't belong to the Guild Leader sounded in Leticia's ear.
Leticia glanced at Melanie quickly, mouthing the words: "Get lost."
Couldn't she tell she was just giving a generic, official response?
"Anna, is there someone else with you?" The Guild Leader naturally heard Melanie's voice. "Her voice is very nice."
"Yeah, someone I don't get along with." Leticia rested her chin in her hand, showing an impatient expression. "Go away, go away, don't disturb me while I'm playing games."
"This game... is it fun?" If Leticia could use games to kill time, perhaps she could too, Melanie thought.
"It's fun, of course it's fun." Leticia nodded. "If you ask me, the greatest contribution of the Human World in these years is the development of this'Sorrow of the Six Realms'."
"Can I play?"
"Ah... huh?!" Leticia slowly took off her headphones, looking at Melanie with shocked eyes. "What did you say?"
"I said, can I play?"
