Yusuf (AS) was sent to prison, even though he was innocent. But he did not complain. He remained patient and continued to trust Allah. Inside the prison, he showed kindness, wisdom, and honesty to everyone around him. His good character made others respect him.
Two young men were also in prison with him. One night, both of them saw strange dreams. They came to Yusuf (AS) and said, "We see you as a good man. Please explain our dreams to us."
Yusuf (AS) first reminded them about the oneness of Allah. He told them that only Allah has true power and knowledge. Then he explained their dreams.
To the first man, he said, "You will be released and will serve wine to your king again."
To the second man, he said, "You will be punished, and birds will eat from your head."
Exactly as Yusuf (AS) said, it happened. Before the first man left prison, Yusuf (AS) asked him, "Please mention me to your king." But after his release, the man forgot about Yusuf (AS) for many years.
Yusuf (AS) remained in prison longer, but he never lost hope.
Years later, the king of Egypt had a very confusing dream. He saw seven fat cows being eaten by seven thin cows, and seven green ears of grain along with seven dry ones. No one in his court could explain the meaning.
At that moment, the man who had been in prison with Yusuf (AS) remembered him. He went to Yusuf (AS) and told him about the king's dream.
Yusuf (AS) explained, "There will be seven years of good harvest. After that, there will be seven years of severe drought. People must save food during the good years to survive the difficult years."
The man returned to the king and shared the explanation. The king was amazed and asked for Yusuf (AS) to be brought to him.
But Yusuf (AS) did not leave prison immediately. He wanted the truth about his innocence to be known first. The king investigated the matter and found out that Yusuf (AS) had been falsely accused all along.
Finally, Yusuf (AS) was proven innocent and was released from prison with honor.
The king was so impressed by his wisdom and honesty that he offered Yusuf (AS) a high position in the land. Yusuf (AS) accepted the responsibility and became in charge of the storehouses of Egypt.
This was a great turning point in his life.
From the darkness of the well to the difficulty of slavery, and from the pain of prison to a position of honor, Yusuf (AS) showed patience and trust in Allah at every step.
His story teaches us that no matter how hard life becomes, patience and faith always lead to success and relief.
