After completing the عظیم ark under the command of Allah, Prophet Nuh (AS) waited patiently for the moment that had been promised. For many years, he had called his people toward the worship of one true God, urging them to leave their false idols and turn back to righteousness. However, only a small group believed in him, while the majority continued in arrogance and denial. Despite their rejection, Nuh (AS) remained firm, trusting completely in Allah's plan.
Then, the long-awaited day arrived. The sky grew dark with heavy clouds, and soon, rain began to pour down in an unstoppable stream. It was not an ordinary rain—it fell continuously and intensely. At the same time, water began to gush forth from the earth itself. Springs burst open, and the ground overflowed. Within a short time, the land was overwhelmed with water from every direction. It became clear that this was a عظیم flood, a punishment sent by Allah upon those who had rejected the truth.
Nuh (AS) immediately gathered the believers and instructed them to board the ark. These were the people who had remained patient and faithful despite years of mockery and hardship. Though they were few in number, their ایمان was strong. Following Allah's command, Nuh (AS) also brought pairs of animals onto the ark, ensuring that life on earth would continue after the flood. When everything was ready, he began the journey in the name of Allah.
As the ark set sail, the water levels rose higher and higher. The waves became enormous, like towering mountains crashing against one another. The entire world seemed to be swallowed by water—homes, trees, and entire communities disappeared beneath the flood. It was a terrifying and overwhelming sight. Yet, by the mercy of Allah, the ark remained safe and steady, floating securely above the raging waters.
Amidst this chaos, Nuh (AS) noticed his son standing at a distance. His son had refused to believe and had chosen to remain with the disbelievers. Seeing him in danger, Nuh (AS) felt a deep pain in his heart. As a father, he could not ignore his child. He called out to him with love and concern, "O my son! Come aboard with us and do not stay with the disbelievers."
But his son, blinded by pride and false confidence, replied, "I will take refuge on a mountain that will protect me from the water." He believed that his own plan and strength would save him from the disaster.
Nuh (AS), filled with sorrow, responded, "Today, there is no protection from the command of Allah except for those upon whom He shows mercy." His words carried the truth, but his son refused to accept it. In that very moment, a massive wave rose between them like a wall, separating father and son. Before anything more could happen, the boy was overtaken by the flood and drowned among the disbelievers.
This was one of the most painful moments in the life of Nuh (AS). Although he was a Prophet, he was also a father. The loss of his son weighed heavily on his heart. Later, he turned to Allah, seeking understanding. Allah made it clear to him that true relationships are based on faith and righteousness, not merely on blood ties. His son had chosen disbelief, and therefore, he was not among the righteous.
The flood continued for a long period, covering everything on earth. The ark sailed through the vast ocean that had once been land. Inside the ark, the believers remained patient and grateful, constantly remembering Allah and seeking His mercy. They had complete trust that Allah would guide them to safety.
Finally, the command of Allah came once again. He ordered the earth to swallow its water and the sky to stop raining. Gradually, the rain ceased, and the floodwaters began to recede. The level of water slowly decreased, revealing the land once more. The destruction was عظیم, but it also marked a new beginning.
The ark eventually came to rest upon a high mountain, safe and secure. It was a moment of relief and gratitude. Nuh (AS) and the believers stepped out onto the cleansed earth. Everything had changed—the old world of corruption and disbelief had been washed away, leaving behind a fresh start for those who believed.
Nuh (AS) and his followers thanked Allah for saving them from such a عظیم disaster. They understood that their survival was not due to their own strength, but solely because of Allah's mercy. With renewed faith and hope, they began to rebuild their lives, determined to follow the path of righteousness.
This event became a powerful lesson for all of humanity. It showed that no matter how strong or confident people may feel, they cannot escape the will of Allah. Arrogance and denial lead only to destruction, while faith and obedience bring safety and success.

আকাশে ঘন কালো মেঘ জমে উঠল, এবং হঠাৎ করে প্রবল বৃষ্টি শুরু হলো। এটি কোনো সাধারণ বৃষ্টি ছিল না; বরং নিরবচ্ছিন্নভাবে পানি ঝরতে লাগল। একই সঙ্গে মাটির ভেতর থেকেও পানির ঝর্ণা ফুঁটে উঠল। অল্প সময়ের মধ্যেই চারদিক পানিতে প্লাবিত হয়ে গেল। ঘরবাড়ি, গাছপালা, মাঠ—সবকিছু ধীরে ধীরে পানির নিচে তলিয়ে যেতে লাগল। মানুষ বুঝতে পারল, এটি কোনো স্বাভাবিক ঘটনা নয়, বরং আল্লাহর কঠিন শাস্তি।
নূহ (আ.) আল্লাহর নির্দেশ অনুযায়ী ঈমানদারদের দ্রুত নৌকায় উঠতে বললেন। যারা তার প্রতি বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করেছিল, তারা দেরি না করে নৌকায় আশ্রয় নিল। তারা ছিল খুবই অল্পসংখ্যক, কিন্তু তাদের ঈমান ছিল দৃঢ় ও অটল। নূহ (আ.) প্রতিটি প্রাণীর এক জোড়া করে নৌকায় তুললেন, যেন পৃথিবীতে জীবনধারা বজায় থাকে। সব প্রস্তুতি সম্পন্ন হলে তিনি আল্লাহর নামে নৌকাটি যাত্রা শুরু করালেন।
পানি ক্রমেই বাড়তে লাগল। ঢেউগুলো এত উঁচু হয়ে উঠছিল যে, সেগুলো পাহাড়ের মতো মনে হচ্ছিল। চারদিকে শুধু উত্তাল পানি আর গর্জন—এ যেন এক ভয়ংকর দৃশ্য। কিন্তু এই কঠিন পরিস্থিতির মধ্যেও নৌকাটি আল্লাহর রহমতে নিরাপদে ভেসে চলছিল। নূহ (আ.) এবং তার সঙ্গে থাকা মুমিনরা আল্লাহর ওপর পূর্ণ ভরসা রেখেছিলেন।
এই সময় নূহ (আ.) দূরে তার এক ছেলেকে দেখতে পেলেন, যে এখনো ঈমান আনেনি। একজন পিতা হিসেবে তার হৃদয় কেঁপে উঠল। তিনি তার ছেলেকে ডেকে বললেন, "হে আমার প্রিয় সন্তান! আমাদের সঙ্গে নৌকায় উঠে পড়ো, অবিশ্বাসীদের সঙ্গে থেকো না।" তার কণ্ঠে ছিল ভালোবাসা, দয়া এবং উদ্বেগ।
কিন্তু তার ছেলে অহংকার ও অবিশ্বাসে অন্ধ হয়ে গিয়েছিল। সে উত্তর দিল, "আমি এমন এক পাহাড়ে আশ্রয় নেব, যা আমাকে পানির হাত থেকে রক্ষা করবে।" সে মনে করেছিল, নিজের বুদ্ধি ও শক্তির ওপর নির্ভর করেই সে বেঁচে যাবে।
নূহ (আ.) গভীর কষ্ট নিয়ে বললেন, "আজ আল্লাহর আদেশ থেকে রক্ষা করার মতো কেউ নেই, শুধু তিনি যাকে দয়া করবেন।" তার এই কথার মধ্যেই ছিল সত্যের স্পষ্ট ঘোষণা। কিন্তু তার ছেলে তা বুঝতে পারল না।
ঠিক সেই মুহূর্তে একটি বিশাল ঢেউ এসে তাদের মাঝে বাধা হয়ে দাঁড়াল। আর কিছু বুঝে ওঠার আগেই তার ছেলে পানির স্রোতে ভেসে গেল এবং ডুবে মারা গেল। এই দৃশ্য নূহ (আ.)-এর জন্য ছিল অত্যন্ত বেদনাদায়ক। তিনি একজন নবী হলেও একজন পিতা ছিলেন, আর সন্তানের এই পরিণতি তার হৃদয়কে গভীরভাবে আহত করল।
প্লাবন দীর্ঘ সময় ধরে চলতে থাকল। পানি এতটাই বেড়ে গিয়েছিল যে, পৃথিবীর উঁচু স্থানগুলোও ডুবে গিয়েছিল। নৌকাটি উত্তাল ঢেউয়ের মাঝে ভেসে বেড়াচ্ছিল, কিন্তু আল্লাহর হেফাজতে সেটি নিরাপদ ছিল। নূহ (আ.) এবং তার সঙ্গীরা আল্লাহর প্রতি দোয়া করতে থাকলেন এবং তার রহমতের ওপর ভরসা রাখলেন।
অবশেষে আল্লাহ তায়ালা পৃথিবীকে নির্দেশ দিলেন—"হে পৃথিবী! তোমার পানি তুমি শুষে নাও।" এবং আকাশকে বললেন—"তুমি থেমে যাও।" তখন ধীরে ধীরে বৃষ্টি বন্ধ হলো এবং পানি নামতে শুরু করল। প্লাবনের তীব্রতা কমে গেল, এবং পৃথিবী আবার ধীরে ধীরে তার স্বাভাবিক অবস্থায় ফিরে আসতে লাগল।
নৌকাটি অবশেষে একটি উঁচু পাহাড়ের ওপর এসে স্থির হলো। এটি ছিল আল্লাহর পক্ষ থেকে নিরাপত্তার নিদর্শন। নূহ (আ.) এবং তার সঙ্গে থাকা মুমিনরা তখন নৌকা থেকে নেমে এলেন। তারা আল্লাহর প্রতি কৃতজ্ঞতা প্রকাশ করলেন, কারণ তিনি তাদের এই ভয়াবহ বিপদ থেকে রক্ষা করেছেন।
এরপর নতুনভাবে পৃথিবীতে জীবন শুরু হলো। যারা ঈমান এনেছিল, তারা আল্লাহর নির্দেশ মেনে চলতে লাগল এবং একটি সৎ সমাজ গড়ে তোলার চেষ্টা করল। এই ঘটনা মানবজাতির জন্য একটি বড় শিক্ষা হয়ে রইল।
