After completing the العظيم ark under Allah's command, Prophet Nuh (AS) awaited the sign that had been promised. Soon, the skies began to pour with relentless rain, and water burst forth from the earth itself. It was not an ordinary storm; it was a العظيم flood unlike anything the world had ever seen. The punishment of Allah had begun.
Nuh (AS) quickly gathered the believers who had accepted his message after years of دعوت. They were few in number, but their faith was strong. As instructed, he also took pairs of animals onto the ark, ensuring the survival of different species. Then, in the name of Allah, the ark began to sail through the rising waters.
The waves grew enormous, towering like mountains, crashing all around the ark. Yet, by Allah's mercy, it remained steady and safe. Amid this chaos, Nuh (AS) saw his son standing at a distance. His heart filled with concern and love. He called out to him, "O my son! Come aboard with us and do not remain with the disbelievers."
But his son, blinded by pride and disbelief, replied, "I will take refuge on a mountain that will protect me from the water." Nuh (AS), with deep sorrow, answered, "Today, there is no protection from Allah's command except for those upon whom He shows mercy." Before anything more could be said, a massive wave rose between them, and his son was swept away, among those who drowned.
This moment was one of the greatest tests for Nuh (AS). Despite being a Prophet, he felt the pain of losing his own child. Later, he turned to Allah, seeking understanding. Allah reminded him that true ties are based on faith, not just blood, and that his son had chosen disbelief.
The flood continued for a long time, covering everything in sight. Eventually, Allah commanded the earth to swallow its water and the sky to stop raining. Gradually, the waters receded, and the العظيم ark came to rest upon a mountain. Peace returned to the land once again.
Nuh (AS) and the believers stepped out onto a cleansed earth, beginning life anew with gratitude to Allah. The العظيم flood became a lasting sign for all humanity—a reminder of the consequences of arrogance and the reward of faith.
Lesson: True success lies in obedience to Allah. No matter how powerful or confident a person may seem, only faith and righteousness can save them in the end.

নূহ (আ.) আল্লাহর নির্দেশ অনুযায়ী বিশাল নৌকা তৈরি শেষ করার পর সেই প্রতিশ্রুত দিনের অপেক্ষায় রইলেন। কিছুদিন পরই আকাশ কালো মেঘে ঢেকে গেল, আর হঠাৎ করে প্রবল বৃষ্টি শুরু হলো। শুধু আকাশ থেকেই নয়, মাটির ভেতর থেকেও পানি ফুঁটে বের হতে লাগল। চারদিক ধীরে ধীরে পানিতে ভরে গেল—এটি ছিল এক ভয়াবহ মহাপ্লাবন, যা আল্লাহর পক্ষ থেকে অবাধ্য জাতির জন্য শাস্তি হিসেবে এসেছিল।
নূহ (আ.) দ্রুত ঈমানদারদের নৌকায় তুলে নিলেন। তারা ছিল সংখ্যায় খুবই কম, কিন্তু তাদের বিশ্বাস ছিল অটুট। আল্লাহর নির্দেশ অনুযায়ী তিনি প্রতিটি প্রাণীর এক জোড়া করে নৌকায় নিলেন। সব প্রস্তুতি শেষ হলে তিনি আল্লাহর নাম নিয়ে নৌকা চালু করলেন। বিশাল ঢেউগুলো পাহাড়ের মতো উঁচু হয়ে উঠছিল, আর নৌকাটি সেই উত্তাল পানির মধ্যে আল্লাহর রহমতে নিরাপদে ভেসে চলছিল।
এই সময় নূহ (আ.) তার এক ছেলেকে দেখতে পেলেন, যে এখনো ঈমান আনেনি। পিতার হৃদয়ে ভালোবাসা ও দুশ্চিন্তা ভর করল। তিনি তাকে ডেকে বললেন, "হে আমার সন্তান! আমাদের সঙ্গে নৌকায় উঠে পড়ো, কাফিরদের সাথে থেকো না।" কিন্তু তার ছেলে অহংকার করে বলল, "আমি একটি উঁচু পাহাড়ে আশ্রয় নেব, যা আমাকে পানির হাত থেকে রক্ষা করবে।"
নূহ (আ.) অত্যন্ত কষ্টের সঙ্গে বললেন, "আজ আল্লাহর আদেশ থেকে বাঁচানোর মতো কেউ নেই, শুধু তিনি যাকে দয়া করবেন।" ঠিক তখনই একটি বিশাল ঢেউ তাদের মাঝে বাধা হয়ে দাঁড়াল, এবং তার ছেলে পানিতে ডুবে গেল। এই ঘটনা নূহ (আ.)-এর জন্য ছিল অত্যন্ত বেদনাদায়ক। একজন নবী হওয়ার পরও তিনি একজন পিতা ছিলেন, আর সন্তানের মৃত্যু তার হৃদয়কে ভেঙে দিয়েছিল।
প্লাবন অনেকদিন ধরে চলতে থাকল। চারদিকে শুধু পানি আর পানি—কোনো জমি দেখা যাচ্ছিল না। অবশেষে আল্লাহ তায়ালা পৃথিবীকে নির্দেশ দিলেন পানি শুষে নিতে এবং আকাশকে বললেন বৃষ্টি থামাতে। ধীরে ধীরে পানি কমে গেল, আর নৌকাটি একটি পাহাড়ের ওপর স্থির হয়ে দাঁড়াল।
নূহ (আ.) এবং তার সঙ্গে থাকা মুমিনরা নিরাপদে নৌকা থেকে নেমে এলেন। তারা আল্লাহর প্রতি কৃতজ্ঞতা প্রকাশ করলেন। নতুনভাবে পৃথিবীতে জীবন শুরু হলো—একটি পবিত্র ও শিক্ষা ভরা অধ্যায় হিসেবে।
