SHADOW OPS MISSION
In the aftermath of the chaos that unfolded within Kurayami, the newly appointed Grandmaster of Darkness, Itami Hinotori, wasted no time taking action.
Understanding the growing threat posed by Kosuke and the danger surrounding his daughter Itami summoned Kiba, the captain of the Shadow Ops.
"I entrust you with my daughters," Itami said firmly. "Escort Hikari and Kurai to the Land of Light. Place them under the protection of Shukumei."
Kiba, unwavering and disciplined, bowed his head.
"As you command, Grandmaster."
Without hesitation, Kiba assembled his elite squad. Cloaked in their dark armor, the Shadow Ops moved swiftly, escorting Hikari and Kurai across the lands.
Their journey was cautious yet efficient, ensuring the girls remained safe every step of the way.
Through forests, valleys, and borders once stained by war, they traveled until finally, they reached their destination:
THE VILLAGE OF SAKURA
Thanks to the newly established treaty between the Land of Light and the Land of Shadows, the atmosphere at the village gates had changed.
No hostility.
No suspicion.
Only cautious peace.
The guards allowed Kiba and his squad to enter without resistance.
Kenji Midori, stationed nearby, quickly noticed their arrival.
His sharp eyes locked onto Kiba the yellow-haired shinobi with piercing green eyes, clad in Shadow Ops armor.
Approaching with curiosity, Kenji smiled.
"Kiba… what brings you here?"
Kiba's expression remained serious.
"An incident occurred in Kurayami," he explained. "It involves the Dark Dragon… and its vessel."
Kenji's smile faded.
Kiba stepped aside slightly, revealing Hikari and Kurai.
"The younger one—Kurai—is the vessel," he continued. "She is being hunted."
Kenji's eyes widened as he sensed the overwhelming aura radiating from Kurai.
"And these are…"
"Hikari and Kurai Hinotori," Kiba confirmed. "Daughters of Itami Hinotori the new Grandmaster of Darkness."
Shock washed over Kenji.
"The Hinotori clan… survived…"
He quickly regained composure.
"Come. You need to see Shukumei."
Before the Grandmaster
Kenji led the group through the village and into the Grandmaster's office.
Inside, Shukumei and Yamata stood in discussion.
Kenji bowed respectfully.
"Grandmaster… we have visitors."
Kiba stepped forward with his squad and bowed deeply.
He recounted everything the battle, Kosuke's betrayal, and the pursuit of the Dark Dragon's power.
Shukumei listened in silence.
"And Itami?" Shukumei asked calmly.
"He is alive," Kiba replied. "But weakened. He overused the Kokkorogan."
Shukumei nodded, his expression thoughtful.
"I remember Kosuke," he said quietly. "Through my Butsugan, I once saw his heart."
His gaze darkened slightly.
"He was not born evil… only broken."
Kiba lowered his head.
"Itami has requested a favor. He asks that Hikari and Kurai remain here… under your protection."
HIKARI AND KURAI
Shukumei turned his attention toward the two girls.
First Hikari.
He saw light.
A radiant soul, warm and pure like sunlight breaking through clouds.
Then Kurai.
His eyes softened.
Her aura was powerful… yet fractured.
Her soul… was crying.
He could feel it echoes of pain, of past suffering tied to something far greater than her current life.
Shukumei understood.
This girl would walk a difficult path.
A path of darkness.
Yet one destined to bring balance.
A Promise of Protection
Shukumei stepped forward.
"They will stay."
Kiba looked up.
"I will provide them a home," Shukumei continued. "A place of peace, safety, and belonging."
He placed a hand over his chest.
"Under my protection… they are not guests."
"They are family."
His voice grew firm.
"I will defend them with my life."
Kiba lowered himself deeply in gratitude.
"Thank you, Grandmaster."
"I will inform Itami."
Before leaving, Shukumei added:
"Tell him… congratulations."
Kiba nodded.
With that, the Shadow Ops departed.
A NEW BEGINNING
Shukumei smiled gently at the girls.
"My name is Shukumei," he said. "Welcome to Sakura."
Yamata stepped forward.
"You'll find more than safety here," he added. "You'll find friends… and a place to belong."
Hikari slowly relaxed, releasing Kurai's hand.
"…Are we really safe here?" she asked.
Shukumei nodded.
"You have my word."
LIFE IN THE LAND OF LIGHT
Shukumei and Yamata guided them through the village.
Sakura trees bloomed beautifully.
Children laughed and played.
Shinobi trained in open fields.
For the first time in a long while they felt Peace.
Hikari's eyes sparkled.
Kurai remained quiet, observing everything.
"This will be your home," Shukumei said as they arrived.
The residence was modest yet warm complete with a living space, washroom, and a small garden.
Hikari bowed.
"Thank you… truly."
Shukumei smiled.
"If you need anything… come to me."
He then added:
"Tomorrow, you'll attend the academy."
THE ACADEMY
The next day, Hikari and Kurai arrived at the academy.
Yamata greeted them.
"Your instructors have been assigned," he said.
Inside, several teachers stood among the students:
Kenji… Hoshi… Fugami… and Smoke.
Yamata spoke:
"Kurai will train under Kenji."
"And Hikari… under Smoke."
Kenji Sensei
Kenji stepped forward, smiling.
"Hey… we've met before, right?"
"I'm Kenji Midori—your sensei."
"Kurai bowed politely.
NEW BONDS
Kenji introduced her team:
"Inochi. Tosuke. Rai."
As Kurai looked up Her eyes met Inochi's.
Time seemed to pause.
Inochi felt it first.
A pull.
A connection he couldn't explain.
Kurai felt it too.
A strange familiarity.
But she looked away.
INTRODUCTIONS
Inside the dojo, Kenji gathered everyone.
"Introduce yourselves," he instructed.
Inochi went first.
"I'm Inochi Yaskue," he said proudly. "Son of Haru Yaskue."
"I want to become the Grandmaster of Light."
Kurai's eyes widened.
He felt… just like him.
Warm.
Radiant.
Next was Tosuke.
"Inochi is my best friend," he said. "He's my light—I'll be his shadow."
Rai followed.
"I'm Rai of the Shunsai Clan. I'll become the greatest archer alive."
Finally…
Kurai.
She hesitated.
"It's okay," Kenji reassured.
She spoke softly.
"I'm Kurai Hinotori… daughter of Itami."
"I… like watching the moon."
"And… I don't know my dream yet."
Kenji smiled.
"That's fine. You'll find it."
THE FIRST TEST
Kenji stood tall.
"Now… let's begin training."
They stepped into the cherry blossom forest.
"I'll test your abilities," he said.
He turned to face them.
"I'll be your opponent come at me with everything you got the intent to kill."
The wind stirred.
Petals fell.
A new journey had begun.
