KURAI GOES HOME
After gazing at the moonlit sky, Kenji escorts everyone back to their homes, reminding them to report to the dojo early the next morning.
As Kurai arrives home, Hikari opens the door—and instantly lights up.
"Big sister!"
She leaps into Kurai's arms, hugging her tightly.
"I missed you! You did amazing today!"
Hikari then looks toward Kenji and bows slightly.
"Thank you, Kenji-sensei, for bringing her back safely."
Kenji nods with a calm smile.
"Of course."
Hikari turns back to Kurai.
"Go take a shower. I'll get dinner ready."
Kurai waves lightly. "Thank you… and goodnight, Kenji-sensei."
Kenji waves back before departing.
Soon after, Kurai sits at the table and looks at the meal Hikari prepared.
"This looks incredible…"
After finishing dinner, Kurai stands.
"I'm going outside for a bit… I want to look at the moon."
Hikari nods, though slightly concerned.
"Don't stay out too long. We have to wake up early."
THE MOONLIGHT
Kurai steps into the yard, the cool breeze brushing against her skin.
Above her, the sky is filled with stars… and the moon glows softly, illuminating everything in silver light.
She closes her eyes.
Her thoughts drift back to earlier—when Kenji asked them about their dreams.
"…My dream…"
She thinks of her parents.
Her friends.
But most importantly Hikari.
She's my light…
A gentle smile forms.
"I want to become stronger… a great kunoichi… someone who can protect everyone I love."
Her thoughts shift again.

His promise.
Her cheeks flush slightly.

She smiles softly to herself.
RETALIATION
The wind suddenly grows stronger.
Sakura petals swirl through the air.
Kurai's expression changes.
Something feels… wrong.
Her instincts flare.
She turns to head back inside—
but freezes.
Several shinobi stand before her.
Clad in red garments, wearing black samurai armor and oni masks.
Shinobi from the Land of Fire.
Kurai's eyes widen.
She opens her mouth to scream but before a sound escapes, one of them grabs her.
Her voice is silenced.
She struggles desperately as they bind her with rope and force her to the ground.
"Mmmph!"
A strip of tape is placed over her mouth.
Tears fill her eyes.
One of the shinobi lifts her over his shoulder.
"This is retaliation," he says coldly. "For the death of one of our own."
They vanish into the forest.
THE AFRO DRAGON
Suddenly
SHINK! SHINK!
Two shuriken slice through the air, striking two shinobi in the neck. They collapse instantly.
The remaining enemies freeze.
"What the—?!"
Before they can react—
Hands burst from the ground, dragging two more beneath the earth.
A blur of steel flashes.
Another falls.
Then another.
The final shinobi drops Kurai in panic.
"Show yourself!"
Silence.
Then From the darkness…
A figure steps forward.
A young samurai.
With a large afro.
Eyes burning like fire.
Behind him another presence emerges from the shadows.
The last shinobi trembles.
"No way… the Afro Samurai…"
In one swift motion
The blade flashes.
And the enemy is cut down instantly.
INOCHI SAVES KURAI
Kurai's vision clears slowly.
She looks up.
"Inochi…"
He stands beside her, calm and steady.
Eyes closed.
Smiling.
"I told you… didn't I?" he says gently. "I'll always protect you."
Tears stream down Kurai's face.
Uncontrollably.
Tosuke appears beside them.
"We came as fast as we could."
Inochi carefully lifts Kurai.
They leap through the trees, returning toward the village then stop at the Sakura mountains beneath the glowing moon.
THE TRUTH
Kurai looks at him, her voice trembling.
"…How did you know?"
Inochi scratches his head slightly.
"I don't know… I just had a feeling."
"I couldn't stop thinking about you… and something in my chest told me you were in danger."
(Unknown to him, the Light Dragon within him resonated with Kurai's Dark Dragon aura.)
"So I grabbed Tosuke… and came."
Kurai's eyes widen.
"…Why?"
"Why would you come for me?"
"…I'm not even from this village."
"…Our families were enemies."
"…I'm just an outsider."
INOCHI'S WORDS
Inochi looks at her serious now.
"My dad believed in something."
"Peace."
"Unity."
"Light."
He steps closer.
"And Shukumei taught me the same thing."
"If you're here… then you're one of us."
He pauses.
His voice softens.
"And… I don't ever want to lose you."
KURAI FALLS IN LOVE
Something inside Kurai… breaks.
And heals.
At the same time.
Her tears fall harder.
Her heart races.
Her chest tightens and suddenly Her eyes glow.
The Kokkorogan awakens.
Emotion floods her mind.
Fear.
Relief.
Love.
For the first time…
She understands.
"…This feeling…"
She looks at him.
And realizes She's fallen in love.
KURAI'S DREAM
"I want to stay with him…"
"…Forever."
"I want to protect him… Hikari… everyone."
Her dream becomes clear.
RETURN HOME
Inochi leans closer, noticing her eyes.
"Your eyes"
"Hey, lovebirds," Tosuke interrupts with a grin.
"We should get going before we get in trouble."
They laugh lightly.
Before leaving, Inochi asks:
"Why did they target you?"
Kurai answers quietly.
"They said… it was revenge."
They escort her home safely.
A SECRET KEPT
Hikari immediately notices Kurai's dirty clothes.
"What happened?!"
Kurai hesitates… then smiles weakly.
"I just fell outside."
Hikari sighs.
"Be more careful."
She prepares a bath.
As Kurai washes, she speaks softly.
"…Inochi saved me."
"…He kept his promise."
Hikari smiles knowingly.
"Oh… so you like him."
Kurai blushes deeply.
"…Maybe…"
Hikari laughs.
"I want to meet him."
"No!" Kurai panics.
They both laugh.
Soon after they fall asleep.
SHUKUMEI'S CAUTION
The next morning Inochi eats breakfast while Shukumei watches him carefully.
"Did anything unusual happen last night?"
Inochi freezes.
He exhales.
"…Someone tried to kidnap Kurai."
"I stopped them."
Shukumei's expression darkens.
"You should have told an adult."
"…But…"
He softens.
"…You're just like your father."
He smiles.
"I'm proud of you."
INOCHI MEETS HIKARI
Later at the dojo—
Hikari meets Inochi.
She smiles brightly.
"So you're my sister's boyfriend?"
Inochi turns red instantly.
"W-Wait—no! It's not like that!"
Hikari laughs.
"You make her really happy."
Kurai hides behind her, embarrassed.
Hikari steps closer to Inochi.
"Promise me… you'll always make her happy"
Inochi looks at Kurai.
Then nods.
"I swear."
A NEW PROMISE
Hikari smiles.
Kurai looks at Inochi.
And in that moment Their bond deepens.
Stronger than before.
Unbreakable.
