The woman continued her travel through the woods, her feet thumping through the barely set-in snow. She was alert and focused. No destination in mind, just the need to get away. From her past. From her nightmares of the scream of her closest friend in her mind. She continued through the forest until growls filled the woods. She looked up when she began to hear the growls of night creatures. All of them are different forms and sizes. Some breathe fire, some don't. Some have powers, some are just reanimated monstrous versions of humans, based on what has been seen.
The woman followed the noises, keeping a watchful eye on the sky and the ground around her. She followed the sound, and she found many night creatures, small ones with wings that breathe fireballs and have wings on their backs. A much bigger Night creature as well, one that fires much, much larger fireballs that explode. There were two men and a woman fighting them all at once. One man with dark hair and a thin line scar going vertically over his eye, and a mess of stubble. The other man was blond, with fair skin and striking features, weilding a long sword. The woman had short orange hair in the robe of a speaker. The woman watched them fight. The man with dark hair used a whip and a sword. The blonde man was faster than an ordinary human and agile. The woman used speaker magic to deflect the fireballs.
The woman ran into the fight and hit the Speaker magician in the back as she was about to divert the fireballs. They collided in the snow and covered the area in steam, giving the woman the cover she needed to jump into the fight.
"Who was that?!" The blonde man looked ahead, bewildered.
"How the hell should I know, Alucard?!" The dark haired may said, collecting the whip as he, the blonde man he called Alucard, and the speaker woman went into the steam as night creatures shrieked and cried.
"Knock it off, Trevor Belmont!" The woman scolded him as they ran. On the other side, the blonde woman had slain the smaller night creatures and the larger night creature. She moved quickly out of the way of the beast's snapping jaws. The woman kept moving. One of the smaller night creatures was still alive. The woman moved quickly and dodged both. The larger creature bit into the smaller one and took time to chew. The woman took it as her chance, and ran at the night creature, and slid under it, slicing it's through open with her sword, angled up to cut into its neck as far as it would go.
The creature gagged and swatted its claws, stumbling over. The woman moved backwards quickly. The last night creature stumbled, before falling to the ground as blood spilled from its neck. Soaking the snow in its blood. The woman watched the night creature die. When it stopped moving, the blonde woman went to a clear patch of snow, mindful not to step on the Night creature's remains. She sat on her knees and used the snow to clean her sword.
The three watched her. The woman speaker was impressed; the dark-haired man looked suspiciously around the blonde woman. And the blonde man had an almost unreadable expression on his face. A slight look in his eyes held something he himself was hesitant to name. Then the woman stood up and turned to the group as she put away her sword. She had a stunning face, sharp features like Alucard, but softer. Her expression held no malice or trick behind it, but hid one singular secret.
"Who are you?" The man with dark hair demanded.
"Trevor," The woman scolded him.
"Forgive my companion, he wasn't exactly trained." The blonde man explained to the woman.
"You could learn something from your friend here." The woman looked the dark-haired man in the eye as she said that. The dark-haired man looked offended. The woman looked to the blonde man. "I'm honestly surprised you stick around this dog shit ass hole."
The dark-haired man looked offended. The blonde man, however, let out a laugh.
"You have quite a sense of humour," The blonde man said. "I don't believe I caught your name."
"Skylar," The woman introduced herself. "And you and your friends are?"
"I am Alucard of Walakia." The blond man introduced himself, then the two accompanying him. "Trevor Belmon, the last son of Belmont. And Sypha Belnades, a speaker and scholar of magic."
"That explains a few things." The woman, Skylar said, folding her arms and looking between Alucard and his companions.
"Huh?" Alucard was confused.
"I heard stories of the sleeping soldier, and his companions travelling and killing night creatures and vampires," Skylar said. "Although I would like to know how Dracula had a son like you,"
Alucard was surprised to hear Skylar say this.
"You know Dracula is my father?" Alucard asked.
"You are a half vampire from what I have heard in travelling around, and you look identical to Dracula's human wife," Skylar explained, leaving Alucard speechless. His companions looked just as lost. "Plus, you haven't killed these two for blood."
"Fair enough," Alucard couldn't help but laugh. "The story with my parents is a long one."
"I have nowhere to be, and I have plenty of time," Skylar said. Alucard gestured with his wand to walk with him into the woods. Skylar gave him a grin and followed him. Sypha and Trevor looked from Skylar and Alucard to each other, surprised.
"So, you want to know how my parents met?" Alucard asked Skylar as they walked.
"That I do," Skylar said.
"Well, my mother, Lisa of Lupu, came to my father's castle to learn the science of the world and be a doctor." Alucard began to explain. "She came right up to his front door and hit it with the palm of her knife, demanding he teach her his knowledge."
"She sounds wonderful," Skylar said.
"Oh, she was brilliant," Alucrad said as he walked with Skylar.
"Sounds like you take more than just looks after her," Skylar said with a smile.
"Well, thank you," Alucard said earnestly. "And I would say, your looks could almost reach my mother's."
"Oh, are you flirting with me?" Skylar asked. She and Alucard laughed together as their chemistry grew.
