As Skylar travels on with her new friend and his companions. They talked with each other for the entire trip, getting close.
"So, your sister went missing after your mother was burned at the stake?" Skylar asked as she rode the covered cart with Alucard while Sypha and Trevor rode in the front to drive the cart with horses that were barely skin over bone. "I heard she was constantly going out into the village, helping people, and helping them where your mother couldn't."
"She did," Alucard let a small huff of breath leave his lips before continuing. "She used to be bright and so full of hope and joy in her soul. But after our mother died, it broke her inside."
"Oh," Skylar's voice was almost quiet. "I'm so sorry, her going missing must have been difficult to wake up to."
"I knew she would have gone into hiding after our father struck me," Alucard told her. Skylar's eyes widened. "I knew Dracule had a friend named Elizabeth."
"So, she has a friend to travel with?" Skylar asked.
"Yes, and she is happy with her," Alucard told her. "But she is still hurt inside. If I had to assume, she blames herself for not protecting her mother or me. Then, when she couldn't stop our father from hurting humans."
Skylar looked at Alucard, a remorseful expression on her face. Alucard saw this and gave her a gentle smile, trying not to look pathetic to her. Skylar was about to try to say something else, but the cart came to an abrupt stop before she could say anything. Alucard was already out of the cart and held out his hand to help Skylar down. She took his hand and got out of the cart. Around them were the old, dismantled remains of what looked like a home that was once an astounding mansion. The ancestral Belmont home. Skylar looked around and headed into the remains. It was dark out, but it seemed that she had no problem getting around the remains like she could see just fine. Alucard followed her, and the other two followed behind, lighting torches to see what was going on. Alucard and Skylar walked ahead, and something caught Skylar's eye. She made her way to a pile of rubble over something on the ground.
"Something's under here," Skylar said as she looked at the rubble, taking a knee and looking at something that looked like a door under the rocks and stone. Skylar began moving the rubble with surprising ease. "Alucard, help me here."
Alucard came over and began throwing debris with Skylar till the door was uncovered completely. Skylar looked over the door, brushing her bangs from her face as she looked over the door to look for a way to open it. Alucard kept glancing at her. Sypha and Trevor came closer.
