Chapter 3 - CHAPTER 3: Who are you?

As she walked away from the Moonlit Lake, Zaiveil heard the sound of water splashing, the calm and quiet lake slowly turning into chaos as something materialized beneath the lake's surface.

The air was filled with an eerie energy, and the trees surrounding the lake seemed to lean in, as if they were trying to listen to the unfolding mystery. The scent of blooming flowers and damp earth wafted through the air, mingling with the sweet fragrance of the moonflowers that bloomed only under the silvery light of the full moon.

'What's happening?' she thought, her eyes narrowing.

The water churned and foamed, and a figure began to take shape, its presence sending shivers down her spine. The moonlight cast an ethereal glow on the lake, making the figure's transparent form visible.

It was an elder man with long white hair and a beard, wearing a white and blue robe, like someone who came straight out of a fantasy novel or movie.

His transparent figure was like that of a spirit, visible but untouchable. The elder man's surroundings glowed with a soft, otherworldly light.

Zaiveil took a step back as she noticed that the entity on the lake was walking towards her. The sound of the water lapping against the shore created a soothing melody, a stark contrast to the tension building in the air.

The atmosphere was tense, with an air of anticipation hanging over the lake. The crickets and other nocturnal creatures had fallen silent, as if they too were waiting to see what would happen next. Zaiveil's training kicked in, and she stood her ground, her eyes fixed on the approaching figure.

"Who are you?" she asked, her voice is calm and flat.

The man didn't answer her right away, but his eyes shone with kindness and longing. He arrived in front of Zaiveil and stopped two meters away from her, his gaze looking in her features as if memorizing every single details.

"You grew up pretty well, my princess." the transparent old man said, his voice filled with a deep affection.

Zaiveil's emotions didn't fluctuate, but her mind was racing with questions. She thought back to her life as the crown princess of the Crosanta Organization, but she couldn't recall ever meeting this man before.

'Princess? Did he know me? Could it be he knows that I'm the crown princess of Crosanta Organization?' she thought, her mind whirling with possibilities.

"Who are you?!" Zaiveil asked again, her voice flat but deeper and harder than earlier.

"I'm Cryzton, one of the elders of the Hyeleux clan." he said, his voice serious, but his eyes full of anticipation.

Zaiveil's mind was filled with questions. The Hyeleux clan? She had never heard of it before, and it seemed to hold a significance she couldn't quite grasp.

"Hyeleux Clan?" Zaiveil questioned, her voice cold and flat.

"The clan you were born into and the one you belonged to." he said, dropping those words that made Zaiveil freeze, her eyes showing a glint of something indescribable.

'Is he the one who could help find out my identity?' she thought, her mind processing the information she heard.

"I waited for years, and now I can finally take you back." he blurted out in a whisper, his words barely audible, but Zaiveil's trained ears heard them.

Once again, she froze, but this time, she was more relaxed, her mind processing the implications of his words. The possibility of uncovering freedom and her true identity, or finding a place where she belonged, was tantalizing.

As she stood there, the lake's surface was calm and peaceful once more, Zaiveil knew that she had to hear more. She took a deep breath, her eyes locked on Cryzton, and asked.

"how you'd waited and where will you take me back?"

Cryzton was taken aback, he didn't expect that the princess would hear him. The air was thick with tension, and Cryzton's eyes seemed to hold a deep sadness, a longing for something lost.

"Back to our real world, your true home, my princess." he said, his voice barely above a whisper.

Zaiveil's eyes narrowed, her mind racing with questions, but she knew she needed to know more.

"Tell me more." she said, her cold voice was firm.

Cryzton's face lit up with a warm smile, before he began to tell her more about the truth, the moment was cut off by Zaiveil's phone ringing, shattering the silence of the night.

The sound echoed through the stillness of moonlit lake, a harsh reminder of the world to both of them.
