Lucius woke up in the middle of the night to see his brother standing before him, his clothes soaked in rain, but the obvious marks of blood were still not dry. From his face, neck, arms, and hands. Caesar looked as if he had just come out of a gruesome and bloody fight. But he didn't.
Caesar came right after taking one of his close aides's lives. Somebody he had once trusted his back with had stabbed him. A betrayal that shouldn't be allowed or forgiven.
Seeing his brother bloody, Lucius didn't hesitate or complain at being woken up so late. He half-dragged a delirious Caesar and checked his wound. There was none. Lucius let go of his worry as quickly as it appeared.
However, what he feared had come true.
