Roy discovered the tiny people were hesitating to eat the meat he gave.
"What should i do."
Just as he was thinking this, he remembered the mirror still has more buttons he never ventured.
He already know the OPEN and SCREEN TOUCH button's abilities.
There were one button left he never tried.
SCALE
When he had first learned the mirror's abilities, he never dared to scrutinize the mirror any futher, afraid what the mirror might to do him next.
But despite the trauma he had experienced the first time he acquired the mirror, witnessing the little people suffering from famine evoked a sense of unease within him.
Suppressing his fear, he tapped the SCALE button and two symbols appeared just below the buttons.
it was the mathematical symbol for addition and substraction, or more precisely, plus and minus.
A palpable sense of bewilderment surrounded him
"What does this mean?"
He casually pressed the minus button, a minus symbol seem to appear before the numbers as the number kept increasing.
He stopped when the numbers reached -200, but the mirror didn't seem to change no matter how he press.
It didn't shrank nor grew, he already tapped the minus and plus button more than he can count, however not even the slightest difference was detected.
He was still questioning this when faint voices reached his ear, he returned his gaze toward the tiny people in the village and discovered the miniature figures were arguing again, but now, there weren't two people, but the whole village were shouting and exchanging all kinds of insults.
He sharpened his gaze and leaned forward, trying to determine the reason of the squabble.
"We shouldn't eat this meat!" A villager shouted, pointing his finger to the massive slab of meat "We still don't know wether this food is meant for us. We can just assume and eat it without permission."
"Ah, that's the reason." Roy stiffened, his expression turned solemn
The tiny voices roared even louder.
"I need to do something, fast."
Roy snapped his gaze back to the minus button at the corner of the mirror, still glowing waiting to be pressed.
The number displayed on the screen was set to -200, but Roy still did not know the system's mechanics, that completely irritated him. To make it worse, the villagers inside the mirror were arguing again, if he let them squabble for a little longer, a fight might break out and lead them back to killing each other again.
He must intervene.
So without a second thought, he jumped inside the mirror.
His vission blurred as he was sucked inside the mirror.
Upon opening his eyes, he observed his surroundings, expecting small mounds of earth layered with green leaves and countless small river winding like an endless worm.
However, what he saw with massive mountains and roaring water flowing endlessly toward the horizon.
"What? This was not what i remember." Roy muttered to himself, utterly confused by how the tiny scenery had suddenly grew to the size of the normal world.
He was still bewildered when he heard loud voices coming from a distance.
"Right, I came here to help the villagers." Roy snapped back to his senses and prepared to approach the distant voices.
Roy kicked the earth hard, dust and dirt were sent flying as he ran as fast as he could to reach the village before it was too late.
In the blink of an eye, about 0.01 second, he reached the village.
It was not exaggeration.
Roy simply ran so fast, that he traveled hundreds of meters in a blink of an eye.
He moved with a frantic, uncalculated speed—a pace so extreme it defied even his most ambitious predictions and left his senses struggling to catch up.
"What just happened? I was still clearly some distance away, how did i end up here so fast?"
The villagers were equally confused, just moments ago, they were shouting and arguing to each other, when suddenly a strange person appeared out of nowhere, countless question marks seem to float above the villagers heads.
Roy's expression turned serious, he said to the villagers with a calm, almost soft voice.
"This food is for you, you should not worry of me. I gave it so all of you could eat."
"I have returned to help."
That last sentence finally struck most of the villagers, one by one they knelt down on one knee, heads lowered, while those who could not process the situation simply froze, confusion written all over their faces.
Roy was stunned, he, too, couldn't understand how the situation had shifted into this.
"The benevolent Immortal Zudra has returned." The villagers said in chorus, still on the ground, kneeling on one knee and heads lowered, not daring to look up as if a massive blade may struck them if they looked up slightly.
With those words, the remaining bystanders understood the situation. They immediately followed suit, dropping to one knee with their heads lowered.
"The benevolent Heavenly Immortal has returned."
