Chapter 7 - We Rebuild the Village

Everything Sor Sogon said make perfect sense, it wasn't a purge or a raid, it was just innocent people striving for survival.

Roy gestured to Bah Long: the villager immediately approached and knelt on one knee, embarrassment visible on his face.

"Heavenly Immortal," Bah Long said, his tone carried faint trace of regret and shame, "judging from what the gentleman said, then the incident that had happened days ago was clearly just a misunderstanding. We are deeply ashamed for troubling the great Immortal onto manifesting and personally dealing with our mortal disputes."

"I do not blame you," Roy said as he gestured to the masses, "None of you are truly guilty, as what Bah Long said, it was only a misunderstanding and there shall be no need for punishment. However..."

He paused, letting the sentence sank in deeper into their mind.

"I will not permit any more disputes," Roy said, cracking his knuckles as he raise his voice, " Anyone who still harbor ill intentions, please step forward."

None dared took a step, they instantly stiffened and dared not move even a strand of hair. Even breathing was slowed, as if inhaling too much air might be considered as blasphemy.

Roy let out a wry smile, he quickly stood up amd waved his hand.

"Now that things are settled," He waved his hand toward the croud, his voice echoed throughout the region, "We must start rebuilding your village. We start with cultivating the surroundings and begin repairing your homes."

Many of the crowd still couldn't catch up what Roy meant, they only followed what the others were doing.

Soon, all the able bodied men began chopping woods, some demolished abandoned huts, some dug soils for pillars.

All kinds of sound echoed acros the mountains, steel hit steel, wood rolling on the ground, workers shouting to give orders.

Roy had not anticipated it to be this easy, just one word from him and the villager obeys.

He called out to Bah Long and Sor Sogon

The two figures approached Roy with cautious steps, then knelt on one knee.

"What are your orders, great Immortal?" The two spoke in unison.

"it would take some time until we fully repair the village," Roy said, hands inside his pocket as he swept his gaze toward the bustling crowd, "I want the village surrounded by a wall. I will provide food, and i shall also lend a temporary shelter."

"But the workforce is nowhere near sufficient," He continued, expression calm and steady, " we need lots and lots of workers."

He looked at Sor Sogon, his lips slightly curved upward.

"Sor Sogon," Roy said, a wry yet gentle smile appeared on his face, "i want you to send your men as scouts and look for other isolated villagers. Tell them we offer work and food."

Sor Sogon immediately dispatched ten scouts, they weren't real soldiers, but they experienced scouting, clearly, they are the only men who are capable.

As dusk settled over the village, Roy went back to his apartment to prepare his meal. When he left, the villagers also halted their work and began cooking.

The massive slab of meat Roy gave them should last for at least five to six days, but when Roy ordered more workers and had sent scouts to the mountains, promising work and food, a huge swarm of civilians came charging down the mountains, the village instantly fell into a state of saturation.

Roy tried to count the heads.

Too many, far too mang. This should be at least a three thousand people.

Now, because of the sudden flood of civilians, it left no room for the village to breath at all, they compressed themselves into a dense group of heads and ragged clothes, searching who recruited them and the one who promised them food.

Roy sat on the floor of his apartment, facing the mirror with an almost calculating expression.

It won't be long when more people will surge in the village, food isn't a problem, but shelter...

Just as he was thinking this, he sprinted to his bed room and swept his gaze into his shelf and locked onto his sister's 'old miniature dollhouses'.

It was fifteen inches long and twenty inchis wide, it has 8 rooms, a massive living room and a wide kitchen.

Perfect! this might turn out to be a little bigger once in the mirror, but it should fit all the people inside.

He grabbed the dollhouses, carrying two dollhouses on each hand, placing them on the floor, then he first went inside the mirror.

He arrived at the very center of the village. Some civilians jolted when a strange man suddenly appeared, he saw Bah Long, Sor Sogon, and many more original villagers trying to calm the masses down.

Roy cleared his throat, posture dignified, signaling the surrounding crowd.

He stepped onto a large pile of wood, his presence radiated absolute authority.

The crowd instantly fell silent.

"I am the one who hired you," Roy said, voice raised, expression calm, "I shall provide you with food and shelter, in exchange, you will have to work."
