Logan has finally finished his classes, and since he is of age to start learning swordsmanship, the captain of their guards was told to teach him.
Since Logan was going to get sent to school before Tess, he made it a goal to get her as far as he could with magic before he had to leave.
So in order to teach Tess as much as he could, he reached the third level of each element in the span of two years.
During those 2 years he kept on top of his swordsmanship, as well as teaching Tess. She only reached to the second level with fire, but got really proficient at light magic.
This world people only thought that light was used for healing, and that dark was bad magic because only demons and monsters used it.
When Logan reached the level of beating one of the guards, the captain requested from his parents to have him accompany them on their scouting trip, in the forest behind their house.
The Null family grounds were suprisingly big, while the house smaller compared to the grounds, there was a training grounds for the guard, as well as a garden for both flowers and various plants for different vegetables and more.
His parents allowed the outing given it was for his training, Logan had deceived his parents that he was weaker than the captain, and his sister so he hoped that he wouldn't get outed on this trip.
When they found a pack of dark wolves, his first quest was to slay one of them. He ran toward the wolfs flank, and parried the wolfs attack while counter attacking right after it.
After he took care of that wolf, the rest of the guards took care of the rest, "good job Logan" said the captain "that was a perfect execution", he thanked the captain.
After 10 minutes they took off again until they heard a loud rumbling, "what was that!?" one of the guards yelled, "on guard, it's coming toward us!" The captain yelled.
A big lizard appeared, it was bigger than the smaller trees, and longer than two buses, that was the only thing that he could compare it to.
It looked like a super sized gecko, one of the things Logan learned was about the different types of monsters, and when animals that turn into monsters are normally small, that isn't anything good. It means they have absorbed a ton of mana, and also go crazy.
Ever since Logan started to practice swordsmanship, he used a space magic divergent called gravity magic, to add mass and make him slower while also working him out.
Logan realized that the guards can't do this on their own, so he made a decision.
"Stand back everyone!" He yelled, with a strange authority, that made them instinctively listen.
'What can he do, he can't even beat me', the captain thought.
Logan disabled his gravity magic, and all of the soldiers felt a shift in the air, he took one of the soldiers swords, as he zoomed past toward the beast. The soldier didn't even notice until a few seconds later.
Logan decided to first not use any magic, and take it out with just his swordsmanship.
He first sliced at the back of both the front legs, though the beast quickly healed, not before he lost balance though.
Instead of taking advantage of the moment Logan decided to hang back, it was a good decision, because a couple seconds later the beast fired fire magic all around it.
After it got back up it didn't let it's guard down again, after Logan went after it's legs again, it quickly fired another spell towards him, he quickly defended him self with magic.
Right after thinking, 'no normal magician would be able to deflect that much power bye them selves', he decided to let loose. He fired a lightning bolt towards the beast while imbuing himself with magic, he quickly finished it off, when it was trying to defend against his magic.
