Chapter 28 - The Levels Of Enemies - Game and Reality - Chapter 28

Marcus kept on eating and drinking. The people were talking about the bandits and the civil war mostly.

He did not care about those things at all.

He thought for a moment and then spoke to the woman for a room and paid one septim for it. Which is again pretty costly.

But after all the time on the road, he was tired and needed a proper bed to sleep in.

The physical capability of Marcus was that of an ordinary Breton; the physical capabilities of people in Tamriel are a lot stronger than those of ordinary humans on Earth.

But it did not mean that they were never tired.

After paying for the room.

He sat down on his chair after locking the room and closed his eyes for a moment.

He had around forty-seven septims and some drakes. At this point, he believed it did not make sense to count how much he had, as long as it was not by fifty septims or more.

"At least I never have a problem in terms of septims," he thought.

He changed his clothes to something more comfortable and laid down on his bed and let himself sleep for some time.

After waking up, he noticed that there is not much talk or sound at the inn.

He wore his clothes, splashed his face with a bucket of water, and sat down on one of the stools instead of the table.

The young woman smiled at him and then placed cheese, a small amount of meat, a mead, and some tomatoes on the side.

The breakfast was included in the room.

After eating his food, Marcus looked at the map and then left the Swampway Inn.

-

This time he did not stop much as he was well-rested.

Only spending thirty minutes at the very most when he stopped, also letting the horse rest.

He stopped again after four hours of riding and then thought something.

"I wonder if I have regenerated stamina potions; would it help with sleep and on the horse too?"

He wanted to test it out, but it was for a later time.

As he tied the horse, he cast Oakflesh to himself and conjured a spirit wolf to his side.

"Be on guard," he commanded within, and Spirit Wolf started surveying the area, slowly walking.

As he sat down on the rock beside a tree, he opened one of the spells.

"Calm."

He understood that the road will take too much time, and he is not in a state to find more time to learn spells.

So, it is best to read and understand the theories behind the spells he has with him to increase his capability.

Not to mention, the fact that learning spells from their books also counts as experience and gives him chances to level up.

It is something with a different feeling, not like in the game, but it is still there.

As he started reading the first illusion spell, he kept nodding and smiling.

"So."

"Illusion and alteration are pretty similar but also much more different."

"While alteration is using Magicka to change the rules of reality and let them act in a certain way."

"The illusion school of magic is using Magicka to change the others and affect their mental, emotional, and spiritual capability."

"The power level..."

The book and calm spells also indicated the theory that for spells to work on the targets, the mental power, magic power, and other life-level differences between the caster and the target should be close to each other."

"This must be a similar limitation in the game."

"As the Calm Spell does not affect when the target is too powerful."

"Basically, a resist mechanism in real life."

"I believe, if I were to fight, let's say, a 'Dark Elf Warrior' that is experienced, my Flames spell may not be enough to handle such an enemy."

"This also means that the bandits may not have power against my flames spell, and I can take care of them with no problem."

"But this is because they are just 'bandits,' not a bandit highwayman or bandit chief."

"These are not titles in this world but also signify the power level of the enemy."

"A bandit highwayman-level enemy may have the power to resist my spells and have too much speed and physical capability to take me on without taking much damage."

"Because my magicka and power level are not enough to handle them."

Marcus made some notes within his mind.

This calculation also made him understand that especially the named characters in the game, such as Astrid, the leader of the Dark Brotherhood in Skyrim.

She was not that strong against the Dragonborn in the game, but here in reality, she wants it.

She can kill him with ease, and he would not have any understanding of it.

"I believe any Dark Brotherhood assassin-level enemy is capable of handling me as long as they want."

"Any named character with some strong capability is most likely also a danger..."

Marcus believed that the characters that existed in the game that are nothing in the eyes of the Dragonborn and the player must be really strong, as this is reality now and the things are much different here.
