Two days after the gala, the Valentino mansion was unusually quiet.
Hazel sat in the large living room, nervously twisting her fingers together. It was the first time Luca had asked her to visit the house again since the family dinner.
Across the room, Valeria watched her quietly.
Hazel looked calm on the outside, but Valeria could see the nervousness in her eyes.
Poor girl, she thought.
She has no idea what storm is coming.
Just then, Abi walked into the room.
Her heels clicked sharply against the marble floor as she approached them. Her expression was different today—colder, more determined.
"Everyone is here already," she said.
Hazel smiled slightly. "That's good."
But Abi didn't return the smile.
Moments later, Luca entered with his parents, and they all sat together around the large sitting area.
At first the conversation was normal.
Luca's mother asked Hazel about her studies.
His father talked about work.
For a moment, everything felt peaceful.
Then Abi spoke.
"There's actually something important I need to say."
The room grew quiet.
Hazel turned to her sister, confused.
Abi slowly stood up.
"I didn't want to say this before," she began softly, "because Hazel is my sister. But after what happened at the gala, I feel like Luca's family deserves to know the truth."
Hazel's stomach tightened.
"What truth?" she asked.
Abi looked at her with fake sadness.
"You shouldn't have forced me to do this, Hazel."
Luca frowned. "Abi, what are you talking about?"
Abi sighed dramatically.
"HazeI hasn't been honest with you," she said.
The words fell heavily into the room.
Hazel stared at her sister in disbelief.
"What are you saying?"
Abi continued calmly.
"She pretends to be innocent and quiet, but that's not really who she is."
Luca's father shifted slightly in his seat.
"What exactly are you trying to say?"
Abi lowered her eyes.
"She's been involved with men before," she said quietly.
The room went silent.
Hazel felt like the air had been knocked out of her chest.
"That's not true," she whispered.
Abi shook her head sadly.
"You've always been good at hiding things, Hazel."
Luca stood up immediately.
"That's enough."
But Abi wasn't finished.
"You deserve to know who you're dating, Luca," she insisted. "She's not as innocent as she pretends to be."
Hazel's eyes filled with tears.
She couldn't believe what she was hearing.
"My own sister…" she whispered.
Across the room, Valeria watched everything carefully.
Her expression slowly hardened.
Abi Hart had just crossed a dangerous line.
And for the first time, Valeria began seriously considering revealing the secret she had kept for years.
Because if Abi continued like this…
She might destroy Hazel completely.
