I open the sleeping pod slowly rising with a sigh. I look around oh how nice it is to b- why is the door torn open!
"That's gonna cost an arm and a leg"
I get up summoning the daggers. Sunny and I make eye contact and we move together upstairs. The whole place is messy as all hell!
"Effie what the fuck!"
Effies in the middle of it all eating like she didn't destroy stuff
"You're back, way to make your friends worry asshole"
So maybe we should have mentioned going on a long trip but to be fair it was meant to be like a week or two. Everything just went wrong.
Shit happens sometimes you know. She mentions something about a housewarming party, which seems weird. Anyways I text Kai
"Missed Sun's birthday help get gift"
I lean back. I must have worried them big time
"■■■■ your back and okay!"
His response is quite fast.
"Yes I'm alive"
I hear Effie mention Sunny's bedroom and the secret stuff, what secret stuff?
"The cookbooks?"
He gives me a sharp look
"I don't have any cookbooks"
Effie laughs
"Not that I meant"
Oh she means sex stuff
"Sunny doesn't get any play"
She bursts out laughing, sunny stares at me offended.
"Not like you're any better"
I nod
"at least I'm doing it on purpose. Even then I get plenty of thirsty comments made about me"
We go to a shopping center Effie and Sunny go to get a new fridge, I stayed behind. I look up my name and somehow my fans have gotten weirder which, fair enough.
When a group of people are left without updates on the thing they all like they tend to go insane. Case and point when that one popular game didn't have updates for a while. The fans became completely incomprehensible, it was very funny.
We meet up at a fancy restaurant. I of course wear some warm clothes, I'm always cold after all, and I don't want to be colder. I start thinking about what to buy, I start looking up possum pictures, yeah that's sunny alright. So maybe a big gray sweater and some fingerless gloves
Heh, how funny. What else should I get him? Oh ho ho that's absolutely hilarious I need to get him that! Okay okay, what else? I've got an idea, he got that weird needle and stuff, he's also mentioned weaving or is it weaver? I don't know but I'll get him a book on weaving.
Kai arrives in the worst costume I've ever seen. And soon after Caster gets here. Efffie gets an Effie level of food and we are seated.
"It's really nice to see you two. Caster, Effie, and I were really worried about you two"
I notice the looks Caster and Sunny are giving each other.
"That's uh.... thanks? I guess, I sort of assumed that you wouldn't notice me being gone. I thought you'd be worried about ■■■■ but they're known for doing reckless things"
I wave him off. Effie shakes her head, Kai mostly seems glad we're okay and Caster seems a bit exasperated.
"I'm starting to wish I didn't tell you idiots! Anyways- what the hell happened!? Why were you two gone for an entire month?"
I nod at Sunny
"Do you want to hear the long or the short version?"
Kai looks at us with a curious expression. I promptly zone out for Sunny's explanation, I was there after all. Soon Caster smacks me on the back of the head, I stare at him with an offended expression.
"I take it back, let's hear the long version"
It takes a bit for Sunny to explain what happened. I added in a few things like me having repossessed a few items. Mostly tools for making stuff because that was what was there.
"God damn that [Fated] attribute of yours has really been in overdrive lately hasn't it?"
Sunny gets a really annoyed expression.... wait Effie knew of the Fated attribute? Sunny explains how the last few months have been fine.
"I guess it's been charging up for some real bullshit."
Caster pipes up next and he speaks a little faster than normal
"About this voice- Mordret you called it, I have to ask what do you know of him"
Sunny gives Caster a look, they really so not like each other. I zone out about Prince. I already know most things I mention how sunny said he sounded polite and how I think he may have been amused by me or something.
I wouldn't say I was that funny during the event but if one doesn't know me I could come off as funny maybe.
Sunny seems to get mentally prepared for something, I wonder what's up with that. He gets serious and he asks if they'd join him in the second nightmare. She thinks for a bit clearly considering it.
"Challenge a nightmare? Now barely 4 months after we had become awakened? Are you crazy Sunny?"
I look up from eating
"No we plan on challenging it when the winter solstice comes around"
Caster gives me an almost betrayed look
"Sure why not? I wouldn't have it any other way even. But Sunny I have one condition."
Sunny gets a confused look
"Really what is it?"
Effie looks at Kai then at Caster
"You need to convince Cassie to join us, t-"
Ohhh shit, he and Cassie had some massive falling out after the shores, not sure what about. Now the two don't talk and Sunny seems to almost hate her.
Now I know how useful her aspect is but at the same time, personal issues within a cohort could cause massive problems, even more so for a second nightmare. I only realized Effie had stopped speaking when Kai spoke
"If you don't mind count me in as well. I want to challenge the second nightmare with the four of you, guys, as well. In fact, even if you do mind I insist."
Good for him, good for him. Kai always lets people walk all over him to be "polite" It's good he's speaking up for himself even a little. We all look at Caster who freezes up a little
"I unfortunately can not come, I have duties within my clan as well as my second nightmare already being planned out"
I nod
"Bout right"
His shoulders get all rigid, he's embarrassed. How funny. Caster hides his embarrassment well but I know him really well, he was my teacher for a while. He always kicked my ass big time. So I know him really well, I'd even go as far as to say I have the best personal connection to the guy as he tends to isolate himself.
I think it's out of like duty or something. I'll admit he's quite loyal to his clan. So I'm still pretty flattered he invited me to join it. Wait I haven't been listening again!
"-ump into that weird under sky again and just hope to avoid all of those flames?"
Sunny coughs
"Well if you put it like that"
We talk for a while, Kai about how he keeps winning, good for him that has to be so much money, Effie about food and the stuff she's hunted, and Caster about how his clan's doing.
I talk about the house and the cool art and craft studio I now have. Sunny gets emotional over the door that Effie so rudely tore open. It was quite rude.
That's when Kai gets a sheepish expression as he hands each of us a brochure. I fall out of the chair when I see the cover, I try to laugh but I can't. It's
"A Song of Light and Darkness"
The movie about us! Holy shit, holy shit this is so fucking funny. Sunny gets a look of pure hate, Caster for the first time in a while seems to be in the throes of dread and Effie seems hyped. I slowly get up having trouble breathing
"oh-huff-oh my god -huff- they're already done!"
Caster slowly turns to me
"You knew about this?!"
I nod
"Yeah I did. I even helped with the personal experience"
Sunny glares at me with annoyance
"And you didn't even think to mention it?"
I shake my head
"I didn't think it would be here so soon"
Effie gets a look that tells of nothing good, for Sunny that is.
Soon we get home, Sunny gets his fridge and runs off to get stuff to fill it, and likely to sell too. Lord knows that would sell for a lot. I clean as I do I check up on some stuff.
My ice skating class is still on, good good. Let's see what else.... oh yeah I've got to look up some stuff to make with ice..... maybe I could make a PTV, how cool would that be. I could hit nightmare creatures and flatten them like bugs! I'll have to do a lot of stuff with that. First I've got to put my new tools in place
