ADRIAN'S POV
Adrian hasn't taken his eyes off Olivia for the past forty minutes.
He's supposed to be working the room. Making connections. Talking to board members about the charity initiative his foundation is sponsoring. Instead, he's watching his fake wife charm everyone she meets.
She's different in public than she is in the penthouse.
At home, she's quiet. Careful. She moves around like she's trying not to take up space. But here in the ballroom with its crystal chandeliers and expensive people, she's alive. She's laughing with the wife of his CFO. She's asking genuine questions. She's touching people's arms like she actually cares about their answers.
His chest tightens watching her.
