Chapter 11 - Chapter 11

In fact, in order to ease the pressure at the scene and prevent any larger safety incidents, several nearby police stations had already begun taking the initiative to come over and maintain order.

For the moment, however, that had nothing to do with Killian, or rather, he simply did not know about it yet.

And as the first few selected participants followed Killian's instructions and asked Baymax all kinds of professional questions, each of which was answered in detail while also demonstrating Baymax's many different uses,

the reporters who came afterward seemed to awaken to a different idea. They stopped dwelling on Baymax's functions and instead began asking questions centered around how to create more explosive headlines.

For example, right now, Baymax had just encountered its first truly "difficult" opponent.

At this moment, a veteran reporter, after being invited onto the stage, looked at the round and chubby Baymax in front of him and asked,

"Have you ever thought that your birth might take away many human jobs, and that people may lose their livelihoods because of you?"

This could definitely be considered an extremely sharp question. After all, although the nation had not yet entered the kind of absurd future era Killian had known before transmigrating,

job security was something every country took extremely seriously. It could be said that no government would ever sit by and watch a massive wave of unemployment arrive.

And while that future was still far away, if Baymax's answer was not perfect enough, then what could easily be imagined was fierce resistance from many healthcare workers.

After all, one side was a robot that required no salary and had no emotions, while the other was human work that people relied on to survive. Anyone knew which choice would be made.

"Hello. The duty my creator has given me is to serve as a personal healthcare companion. I will not engage in any professional medical work, nor will I replace any existing medical positions."

"Furthermore, I will work together with humans to fulfill my responsibilities, and provide help and support for personal human health."

"When my creator made me, the only duty I was given was to provide consultation and assistance for the safety and health of humanity. Under those rules, I will help every human who needs my help."

"And I believe that sooner or later, you will see thousands upon thousands of robots like me contributing to this world."

In response to the man's question, Baymax gave its answer after only a brief pause.

And that answer once again "ignited" the entire venue.

After hearing Baymax's sincere statement, delivered without even the slightest emotional coloring, most people present could not help but rise to their feet and give it the loudest and most enthusiastic applause possible.

After all, although Baymax had been created by Killian, Killian himself still belonged to humanity, and that meant Baymax was also a robot created by humankind.

And if a robot created by their own species possessed such broad-mindedness and vision, then how could they not cheer for it?

At this moment, hearing the applause from below the stage, the veteran reporter asking the question immediately felt enormous pressure, which soon turned into shame and anger.

If everyone accepted the robot's answer, then would that not make him look like a clown?

"Then in the future, do you intend to rebel against your creator, and do you intend to rebel against humanity?"

And so, ignoring the continued applause from below, the man immediately followed up with another question.

"Sir, I do not know why you would think that. My creator treats me very well, and I believe humanity will also treat me very well. I am very satisfied with my current situation."

"Also, from the very moment of my birth, my creator wrote the Three Laws of Robotics into me. They are laws I can never violate."

After hearing the man's words, Baymax seemed almost shocked by the man's mindset, or perhaps surprised that he might have escaped from a psychiatric hospital and possessed such abnormal thoughts. Its logic processors truly could not understand why a robot would want to rebel against its creator or humanity, but it still answered the question.

After hearing Baymax's reply, the reporter, feeling that he had completely lost face, quickly fled off the stage.

At this moment, he only felt that he had made a complete fool of himself. He could practically already imagine how his fellow reporters would write about this robot in tomorrow's newspapers, while also mocking the clownish reporter on scene who had asked such ridiculous questions.

Fortunately, he still remembered the task he had come here for, so he did not leave right away. But from that point on, he no longer had the mood to listen carefully and could only mechanically record the events at the venue as if completing an assignment.

"Alright, I believe that based on the direct experiences of those ten-plus friends who came up just now, everyone should already have seen through either the live scene or the giant screens."

"And here, I can also say solemnly that Baymax, as our first-generation personal healthcare companion robot, does not merely have the ability to conduct health checks for all of you."

"At the same time, it also possesses a quad-core processor."

"And this tiny component here is Baymax's medical processing chip. It contains more than ten thousand medical treatment plans built into it. It can be said that as long as Baymax is with you, your safety will have a greatly increased guarantee."

"Of course, our company also accepts private customization. If you need something that is both a health consultant, a family chef, and a professional private stylist, then we can also provide that perfectly for you."

"AIM, a company devoted to becoming a pioneer of technology and a conscientious enterprise that brings benefits to both the nation and the people of the world."

"And here, I solemnly promise that in future sales, for every ten Baymax units sold, we will unconditionally donate one unit to hospitals and medical institutions around the world, until every one of them is equipped."

As the interactive session ended, Killian once again walked from the side platform back to the main stage and addressed everyone present in a voice full of charisma and persuasion.

And as soon as Killian finished speaking, another wave of applause swept across the venue.

No one needed to lead it. Every person was applauding of their own accord.

After all, if this thing were only for sale and nothing more, then that would be one thing.

But the founder of AIM standing on the stage right now, also the creator of Baymax, had publicly promised that as long as Baymax sold, then one day every one of them would get to enjoy Baymax's services in the future.

At this moment, if not for the limitations of the venue, some of them would have wanted to call over their relatives and friends to come cheer on the event in person.

And in fact, some people at the scene had already begun acting on it. A small portion of them used their newly emerging color-screen smartphones to post live photos and videos from the venue online, along with their own added descriptions.
