After the slave girl was crested and done being rude about the situation, both her and Leo calmed down and started to talk.
"So what is your name?" Leo asked her
"My names is Talia" she replied with a slight hesitated tone...
Leo gathered his thoughts for a moment and decided they should probably get some food, while looking at her he noticed she was bruised, dirty and withered. She hadn't ate in probably almost a week and if she did was scraps of possible garbage.
"Stay here while I go grab us some food from downstairs, I will be back shorty"
She glared at him with a suspicion, no one ever offered to get her food so why would someone who bound her as a slave now offer to feed her without gaining anything to benefit them. This was not a normal act to a demi human in this world and she wanted to run away while he was gone but the slave credt bound her to the room because he gave an order....he did not ask her to stay there.
Leo went down stairs and asked for 2 breakfasts with 2 cups of juice, the bar keeper chuckled at him and asked about the Demi Human upstairs.
"So you get yourself a little slave girl huh adventurer? She's of the DanMachi, a very skilled race is assassination tactics. Will you be taking her to the guild so she can join your oarty?"
Leo was excited to hear this but he secretly already knew she was the assassin class because the system, but he nodded and replied to the bar keeper with a slightly surprised tone to not raise suspicion.
"I plan to take her later once she's ate and I get her cleaned up, I activated a slave crest so no matter what she is bound to me now" he said this with a smirk growing on his face. She was his and this gave him pervy thoughts thinking about her.
"Ahhh the slave crest, well she is yours now and cant deny any request you tell her, becareful with that as many people will try to buy her and or take her from you if they do not agree with demi human slaves."
Leo brushed it off and grabbed his food to go upstairs back to Talia, when he entered she was curled up on the bed with her arms over her knees.
"I got us food if your hungry?" He said while getting closer to her
Talia looked up at him and she was crying, this made Leo's emotions swirl around in his stomach and feel bad for the argument they had earlier. He wasn't going to take advantage of her, he saw her now as a companion for his party and just wanted to help her.
"Look im not going to harm you or make you do anything you dont want to, I saved you from those other Adventures who were going to kill you. Please eat something and I'll take you to the bath house before we goto the guild for your ranking"
She hesitated before speaking back with a choked up voice... "No human treats demi humans like this, why? What do you want from me...im trash nothing more. My last master dumped me in an alley and expected me to die there"
Leo sighed at this answer for he knew she went through a traumatic experience and he couldn't swipe it away like nothing.
"Im not from this world, I dont care how others will treat people but to me your another being and I will take care of you and all I expect is for you to watch my back and help protect me. Together we will go through hardships and conquer this world. But I need to know thats what you want to do, I will not force you to be my companion Talia"
With hearing these words a huge smile swept across Talia face, she was still crying but her voice wasn't choked anymore. She smiled and tilted her head in response to him, "then i will join you on your journey young master"
Leo was happy to hear these words in response to what he said, they both ate their food in silence for the next handful of min that went by and Leo grabbed some regular clothes out of the closet for her. He stepped outside while she got dressed and then she stepped out.
Leo looked her up and down and a slightly pervy smirk again crossed his face.
"What are you looking at perve!" Talia yelled at him
Leo covered his mouth and looked to the side, "its nothing...you look nice, lets goto the bath house and get you cleaned up before going to the guild"
She brushed it off for now and started to skip with him out the door of the tavern and she grabbed onto his arm to show him a simple sign of respect.
As they walked down the street to the local bath house they got glares from all the towns people, this made Leo worry as he noticed this town was not keen on people showing demi humans any type of respect.
But Talia was smiling and finally happy from the situation he found her in, so these glares were nothing compared to seeing the smile he put on her face today. But he needed to be careful now in town as this could put a target on his back.
He was going to need better equipment and in order to afford this they were going to need to take a quest from the guild, he had no idea what type of quests were available or the amount of money they could possibly get from completing these quests.
He had alot of un answered questions but he was going to take one step at a time and for now he needed to get Talia bathed up and cleaned from the state she was in.
