Chapter 8 - The Void Palace

Falling head down was the last thing he had in mind when coming inside the Void Palace.

He was so engrossed in everything he gained and everything he was feeling, that in the end he forgot one of the most important things the Void Palace provided, enhanced gravity.

At a simple feeling, the gravity within this first room was set the same as the mana quality which was about five times that of outside.

Training the body here with this enhanced gravity and mana density will be easier, but in the end it will take him double the time that it will take everyone else to rank up.

Thinking about this he had a headache going on, he was already behind everyone else, now he had to work twice as hard to catch up to four years of training for people like the princess.

As if reading his thoughts, the spirit of the void palace appeared in front of him.

"Master, my name is Void and I am the care taker of this palace. Your worries are unfounded."

Calux suddenly felt the gravity lighten on his body to around twice as much as on the outside world and he was able to at least stand.

He was about to ask what this spirit was talking about but he beat him to it.

"I am connected to the master of the palace, in other words you. While you are in here, I can read your thoughts and wishes to make the room better for training without any buffer time."

"The reason I said your worries were unfounded was simple, master."

"The mana density and quantity within the first room of the palace is five times that of the world you are currently living in."

"On the other hand, the mana gathering method that your bloodline provides you, gives you a 1000% increase in the mana you can absorb per second."

"If we do some calculations, that means that while you train here, you are training at fifty times the training speed that you would on the outside."

Realization hit Calux with this revelation, he had forgotten entirely about this initially, and just thought he had a slight edge in terms of absorption, however when put into numerical terms like this, then it wasn't so far fetched.

"Master, if you train for 2 months in here, I can assure you that you will reach atleast C- rank in both body and mana core."

"Of course that will depend on how well you segment your training for skills and such, but thats what you have me here for, I will also help with time management."

Calux was in awe of how amazing this all sounded, 4 years of work outside would be equivalent to the two months in here if he managed his time right.

I need to talk to mom, create a training schedule that will help me train in here, go outside, have my meals and rest, and continue for the next two months before the Brax Royal Academy starts.

"Before you go anywhere, let me explain what the void palace consists of so you are aware of where you are and where you need to go, master."

"You are currently within the first floor of the Void Palace, you will remain in this floor until you break through to the SSS rank, afterwards you will be able to go to the second floor."

"From the second to third floor you have to achieve the Mythical Rank, from the third to fourth the Supreme Rank, and finally for the fifth floor, the Transcendent Rank."

Calux now understood how high his talent was, it was miles above anyone this world has ever seen.

Now, he understood clearly why his aunt has sealed everything he had.

People would have surely come for me if the Apex Network would of shown my actual potential.

"Thank you Void, I will come back soon."

...

On another part of the continent, within the palace of the imperial family, a heated discussion was on going.

"Father how can I accept this! I followed the script you and mother told me to say, just for the sake of the household!"

"I saw the disappointment in the eyes of the person I loved, the disappointment he had for my behavior! Even after my words, that were thrown like venom, he never once looked at me with hatred!"

"Do you have any idea how much I have cried, all for the sake of the damn household, when we wouldn't even exist without them!"

"After all of this, you tell me he ended up awakening with a perfect S rank potential, having both S rank bloodline and talent?! Did I break his heart and my own for nothing?"

Karina screamed at his father and mother.

The emperor could feel the anger in his daughter's words.

The empress however was unmoved.

"So what? It's just a fleeting love, you've barely spoken to each other in two years, it's the same as starting over. Just with another, stronger man Karina."

"You need to understand, even if he has better potential than you, he is four years behind you, he won't catch up to your achievements, he will always be a step behind, how can we marry you to someone like that?"

The emperor glared at his wife after that sentence.

He was feeling guilty enough after following through with his wife's plan, this ruined the relationship he had with his daughter who now only looked at them with disdain.

Karina looked at her mother with furry.

"Well, since you destroyed my life in vain for the sake of the household, I will no longer care."

"I will marry no one, have another child if you must."

"If Calux doesn't forgive me, I swear, I will never forgive either of you."

Not allowing any more words to come out of her parents mouths, she stood up and walked away going towards her private wing in the castle.

The emperor which had known peace for years, was suddenly hit by headache after headache in the past week, all because he followed his wife's advice thinking it was the best thing for the empire.
