Seraphiel had taken her vision from Calux for about 60-80 seconds, and when she looked towards where he should have been, all she saw was corpses.
She couldn't help but open her eyes wide in shock, she looked around while evading the swipes from the wolf until she finally saw Calux looking at her sitting on a rock.
"What the hell Calux, how did you kill the rare beast and six beasts in less than two minutes?!"
She thrust her spear into the wolf, and a wince was heard.
She gave a small spin while taking the spear out of where she had pierced, and then in a spartan way jumped with her spear towards the wolf and pierced through one of its eyes, killing it on the spot.
"What can I say, I'm just terrifyingly efficient.."
"Hahaha!"
He laughed amusedly.
"How can you act so carefree? There could be-"
"Forget, you have that damn spatial awareness."
She could only sigh in resignation and went to help her constructs finish their own battles.
After a few minutes, she had cleaned her side, left the constructs to take out the mana cores from the beasts, and approached Calux.
"I have to be honest, as if your sword talent was enough, which makes you a sword god, this element of yours is extremely lethal."
"Literally anyone at your rank can get one shot if they aren't careful.."
Calux just smiled.
A smile that in the past twenty four hours had disarmed Seraphiel more times than she could count.
This bastard is too annoyingly handsome, I hate feeling like his smile can disarm me in a heartbeat.
She knew that she and Calux shared an inexplicable connection, if she could describe it, it as if they had known each other for years, she instinctively felt she could trust him and instantly felt comfortable around him.
"Well it's a good thing we're aiming to be the top students, I want us to dominate the ranking, as Sovereigns it's the least we can do right?"
She could feel the innate pride he was speaking with.
It was as if his bloodline was innately prideful, but she felt it too.
She had felt since her awakening that she could no longer bow to anyone, and it was definitely the results of their Sovereign bloodlines.
Who were Sovereigns?
The peak existence, an absolute ruler, and absolute authority for that which they held, they didn't bow, they owned.
She couldn't help but agree with him.
"Well to be honest, other than you, I'm fairly certain I can beat anyone else in our generation."
Calux thought for a second, thinking about the people who they were going to compete against on the entry exam.
"If I were you, I would still be careful around princess Karina Brax and Max Cullingham, the princess has a strong bloodline that provides high offensive power even in her earlier stages, most attacks are long ranged so you should be careful, considering like me she is C- rank, and Max... Well his darkness affinity and bloodline make it so that he is inherently sneaky, so just be careful alright?"
She could feel the worry in his words, he didn't want her to get cocky.
But somehow the mentioning of the princess irked her more than she cared to admit.
"The princes huh..", she murmured in a soft tone, that sounded completely annoyed.
"Huh, what was that?", Calux honestly didn't hear her and questioned.
"Nothing! Let's continue!"
Calux was suddenly stumped.
The hell did I do woman?
Calux, easy going as he was just shrugged and walked behind her.
She had put away her constructs to recharge her mana passively while they walked, since at this point it was something that their techniques allowed, albeit only for recharging their cores, not refinement.
With Calux's spatial awareness, she was not worried of sneak attacks so she just walked a few feet in front of him.
..
After two hours, they had killed over twenty more beasts going further into the cave, but these were not in packs, and they never found another rare wolf.
This let them know that the only way for them to form packs was through a more intelligent and stronger wolf, if they were all the same they just like to stay alone or between just a few wolves, the most they fought at ounce was always three.
Finally reaching what looked to be massive thirty feet doors, they looked at each other.
"Well, it seems we reached the boss room."
Calux said and then looked at Seraphiel who had been more aggressive with the beasts in the last two hours, which was completely different to her gentle personality.
"Yes, I'm ready to kill this beast, I need to vent and the previous beasts were not enough."
Calux raised an eyebrow confused.
"What are you trying to vent? Did I say something?"
Seraphiel looked at Calux, and she honestly didn't know herself, Calux at every point tried to help during the way and she just didn't know why she felt so irritated.
"No you didn't, perhaps it's just one of those days, you know how we are we get irritated easily.", she tried to deflect since she couldn't pin point why she was acting this way.
"Hm, well fine, if you have any thoughts just let me know."
She smiled, knowing he meant well with his words.
Together, they stepped forward and each put their hands towards one of the gigantic doors and started to push.
Slowly, the doors started opening, giving way to a massive cave over 200 meters in diameter, and in the center of the cave stood a gigantic twenty feet long wolf.

"Ho ho... This beast looks strong..."
Calux said with a grin on his face.
"It's big, very big compared to the previous wolves we have fought."
Seraphiel was worried about the size, she knew that her strikes weren't as deadly as Calux, and this elite boss should have a stronger hide than the previous beasts, should be stronger and faster, plus the fact that it probably had some skills they didn't know.
"It's fine, between your three constructs and ourselves, it shouldn't be too hard, but make sure you don't get hit, I'm certain you will get very hurt if he slashes at you with those paws."
Gulp.
"I will.."
They got into battle stances, called out the constructs, and she created a spear for herself.
Then suddenly the massive beast opened its blood red eyes.
Awoooooooooooo.
In a crude angry voice, they both heard a chilling voice speak.
"Humans... Dare intrude in my cave."
"You will die here."
Awoooooooooo.
