Arriving at the Calux's home, Celine was there to receive them with a big smile, but Calux could feel a certain irritation coming from her aura.
Hm... It seems something happened that annoyed mom, I can feel it from a mile away, heh.
"How was the rift kids?"
Of course, this was the first thing that she would ask, even when she clearly has something in mind.
Seraphiel was the first to speak.
"It was great, although to be honest my damage output wasn't the best because of my rank differential, but Calux helped me widen my horizons and taught me a lot."
She said while looking at Calux with a gentle smile.
A smile Celine caught instantly.
Heh. It seems my son's charisma is just as his father's. I guess that is to be expected of the son of a God.
"Well, with Celine's new skill, I'm fairly certain her output will be way better on the next one, she just has to train it a bit."
"To be honest, I also felt like I learned a lot. Although my constructs are extremely intelligent, they are more humanoid beings, therefore their train of thought is completely different from a real beast's instinct."
Celine nodded approvingly.
"You are entirely correct son, you will learn this in the academy, but the truth is, you will have two type of combat regiments, one is for fighting humans, while the other is for beasts, and this is entirely normal considering it is not the same fighting a war against humans than entering rifts, the risks involved are completely different."
Calux thought about it, and to be honest he never thought of war in this planet, it was fairly peaceful, and there hadn't been any wars in the last one hundred years at least, humans were too focused on destroying rifts to be pointing their skills at each other.
But if history shows us anything, is that the greed of humans prevails over rationality.
A continent could very well attack another continent if they had a low spawn rate of rifts, just because their awakeners would fall behind, and they could actually go to war because of it.
While Calux's thinking was a little bit crazy, he had no idea that his thoughts might have some truth hiding behind them in a not so distant future...
"I understand mother, I will definitely focus on both of them, although I would suggest going on a few D rank rifts after we clear the remaining C rank one, so that Seraphiel can actually get used to fighting monsters at her level and she can see she is doing way above the standard for her rank."
Celine looked at Calux with a gentle smile, she had sacrificed so much to make sure that he didn't grow up spoiled and grew up a good man, and she was definitely proud of who he was today.
"Good, good! I knew I raised a good son!"
She ran and hugged him tight.
"MOM! STOP THIS!"
"Sorry I can't hear anything over the hug with my lovely son!!!"
"Ughhh!!!"
Seraphiel meanwhile looked at everything with an amused smile.
Calux, a being which was one of the most destructive she had ever seen or read based on the known awakeners, was actually being hugged to death by his mother and he couldn't do anything about it.
She also felt that it was strange to look at a man who had such a good relationship with their mothers, unfortunately men on this continent weren't so attached to their mothers, or didn't want to show it, Calux however allowed his mom to do this, although he verbally screamed, she could see that he didn't mind.
Analyzing everything, she was sure he did it for her.
Celine looked at Seraphiel and thought about adding some fuel to the possible fire, to see how the girl reacted.
She knew very well that this girl was kind hearted, and she definitely didn't want her son to end up with a vixen, so she did what any sensible mom would do.
She would try to make her jealous.
"Calux we need to talk, the Princess sent a letter herself addressed to you."
Celine then took out the letter and gave it to Calux slowly, making sure that Seraphiel heard everything.
Calux looked at his mother with confusion.
"Why the hell would she write me a letter, didn't she literally dump me, and I quote, 'You can't expect me to marry someone who will never be able to catch up to me can you?'"
"Is she really expecting our engagement to resume because I awakened with an S rank talent?"
Calux's hairs stood on end, but he didn't understand why, he didn't notice that an angel of death was standing a few feet from him looking at him with lifeless eyes.
Seraphiel couldn't believe the audacity of the princess.
This bitch broke the engagement with Calux, which to be honest is the dumbest move I've ever heard, and now she writes to him probably expecting everything to resume?
HOW DARE SHE!
She doesn't deserve someone so kind like him.
She doesn't deserve his smile.
She doesn't deserve to be protected by him.
No no no. This can't be allowed, I need to talk with my master-
Wait.
Why the hell do I care?
I barely know the guy!
Is everything I said true? Yes.
But this shouldn't be any of my business!
Agh why is it affecting me so much!
Although Seraphiel's thinking ability is broken, it also gives her the ability to think as the amount of minds she has, therefore we should imagine her self talking to another five different versions of herself, with her same personalities.
One would say it's a blessing, since you could analyze faster.
But what if you are violent or possessive woman and you don't know it yet?
Well....
...
Meanwhile, Celine smiled triumphantly.
My dear, I'll make sure you and Calux end up together don't worry, I won't let that bitch have my son.
Over my dead body.
