Chapter 28 - The Letter

"Hm, did you read the letter already mom?"

Calux asked while pushing his mother slightly to obtain some space between her bear hug.

"No I did not, however it was not a letter from the King but from the Princess."

"The Princess has not written a letter to you since the last time you two say each other two years ago. After that, she came here and insulted you, what else could she want?"

Seraphiel nodded in agreement, she completely agreed with Celine on what she was implying.

"Well, let's sit down in the family room, have some tea and I'll open it and read it aloud."

Calux then looked at Seraphiel, and asked honestly.

"Do you want to head back to your house and have a rest or have some tea while I read this letter?"

No way in hell I'm leaving this place before I hear the contents of this letter!

"I'll stay for some tea, thank you very much."

She said innocently, as if nothing else was going on through her minds.

Celine looked at Seraphiel approvingly, and this time the culprit noticed and blushed profusely.

Shit, did Celine notice my behavior?

I don't understand my frustrations my self, I can't give my self a bad rep with Celine!

Control yourself Seraphiel!

Control!

..

Arriving at family room, his mother took a seat in the same sofa that Calux sat down in, while Seraphiel sat down in front of them with grace.

Calux grabbed a letter opener and cut the seal off while the maids brought some tea out for them to drink.

"Well here we go."

To my dear Calux:

I understand if this letter is of surprise to you, or perhaps it isn't and you think I'm writing because of the news of your awakening.

The truth is, I never wanted to break our engagement, I have always loved you.

For the past two years, my mother and father have been preventing contact with you, in an attempt to quell my feelings for you, and to see if in time you awakened.

This all changed a week before we visited you, in which Duke Arnold came to the castle and had a sit down with my mother and father in which I have no knowledge of what was discussed, and after that day they decided to confirm if you had not awakened.

I was forced on a script for the 'betterment of the kingdom', and although I played the part to do my part as the only princess of the kingdom, my words held no truth.

I left to the carriage as soon as I said the words because I could not maintain my face after saying what I said, and my tears were about to leak out of my eyes.

What I ask of you is forgiveness and to allow me and you to start a new, I understand you may be thinking I'm just trying to take my chance with you because of your potential, but the truth is I would rather take your surname than continue becoming the princess if that is what it takes for you to believe me.

I hope I hear from you before we go to the academy, I would like for us to start over before then, and we can be our selves and have start our own adventure before and after we arrive at the academy.

Love, Karina.

..

On the other side of Calux, Seraphiel held the sofa's edge in a way that if it were not made of strong monster materials, it would have honestly been broken to pieces long ago.

Celine on the other hand had her fists clenched to tightly, that her nails were digging into her skin.

They were both experiencing anger for similar but different reasons, but one thought was on both their heads.

THE AUDACITY OF THIS BITCH!

Yes both were completely in sync, it was an incredible sight.

But they were both waiting for Calux to respond.

Calux stared at the letter and all he could think was how absurd this situation seemed to be.

"At this point, to be honest it does not matter if it was her our her parents."

He stopped for a few seconds, and sighed.

"The words were spoken, and words spoken unfortunately cannot be taken back."

Then to the surprise of both Celine and Seraphiel, he destroyed the letter with void energy.

The letter completely disappeared from existence, they knew it had not been stored by the way the letter got shredded into the void, it was an extremely amazing sight to see.

Celine looked at Calux proudly, this was the attitude of the man she had raised, she would never allow anyone to stomp on his pride and allow him to come back to that person in good terms.

Seraphiel felt as if a weight had been lifted off her shoulders, she didn't know why, but seeing Calux's attitude to Karina's 'heart felt' letter brought her more pleasure than she would care to admit.

"Just like she stomped on my pride, I will stomp hers, I will send no response for this letter, let that be my response."

"I will excuse my self, I am tired because of today's rift, see you tomorrow Seraphiel, alright?"

"See you later mom."

He gave her a gentle smile, but she knew that although he had taken the decision he did, it still affected him a little.

She would have wanted to comfort him, but he made his thoughts heard and left the family room right after.

Celine however was angry.

Angry because she knew that Calux's current state of emotions was due to the princess, as if one time hadn't been enough, she had now sent this letter, once again throwing Calux's emotions into a small disarray.

Celine looked at Seraphiel, which seemed to share a similar sentiment.

"Listen little Sera. I have trained you for a few months, and I've known my son for well his entire life."

Seraphiel's attention was grabbed by Celine, and she listened attentively.

"I know you have known each other for a day, but I can see the chemistry, and you know that your eyes can't fool me."

Seraphiel lowered her head in embarrassment, her teacher had figured out that she had chaotic thoughts, how embarrassing, was all she could think about.

"I'm not saying you should rush anything, you barely know each other, but if you are truly interested in him, you have my blessing, I prefer you a good woman with excellent potential go after my son than that little bitch who hurt him twice."

Celine's words were laced with gentleness and venom at the end.

"I want you to be honest with yourself and not fight your feelings, I have a feeling that you two are connected in more ways than one, and I've seen how you have been looking at him since you came back, when I mentioned the princess you went on hight alert, I mean.. Look at where you are, listening to every word on the princess's letter huh."

Celine teased.

Seraphiel could not utter a single word, because she knew, even having six minds working at once, that she had no way to refute Celine's words.

She had no idea what connection she had to Calux, but she felt a connection to him, a deep one, as crazy as it would seem after only meeting for twenty four hours.

She knew this was completely crazy, but she knew that if she didn't listen to Celine, if she felt so angry just listening to a letter, she would probably throw the armament rain at the princess if she dared touch Calux in front of her.

Was she crazy?

Perhaps.

Did she understand why this was happening, when it never happened before?

Not at all.

What she did know, was the Celine had been honest with her, and it was up to her to follow up, because she could see that Calux was kind by nature, but he was dense as hell.

Celine suddenly stood up, and once again spoke.

"Good luck Sera."

Seraphiel however could only muster a simple nod because she had no idea how this turned from listening to the letter, to Celine telling her to go after her son!

How did it turn out this way!!!

I want to be swallowed by the ground, right now!
