Chapter 6 - Chapter 5

The room felt different after that.

Quieter.

But not peaceful.

She could still feel the weight of his gaze, even when he wasn't looking directly at her. It lingered, like something unseen yet impossible to ignore.

Neither of them spoke for a while.

The silence stretched—

Until it was broken.

A knock on the door.

Sharp.

Unexpected.

Her body stiffened instantly.

No one came here without reason.

And no one interrupted without permission.

Before she could react, the door opened slightly.

A man stepped in.

His eyes moved quickly, first landing on her, then shifting toward the man sitting beside her.

For a brief second—

Confusion.

Then recognition.

And just like that, his expression changed.

Respect.

Fear.

He straightened immediately.

"Sir," he said, his voice lower now. Careful.

She noticed it.

The shift.

The difference.

This was not how people usually spoke here.

Not to customers.

But to him—

It was different.

"Is something wrong?" the man asked hesitantly.

His tone carried a hint of nervousness, as if he already knew he was not supposed to be there.

The man beside her didn't respond immediately.

Instead, he took a slow drag from his cigarette, his posture relaxed, as if the interruption meant nothing to him.

But his eyes—

They were cold.

Sharp.

Watching.

"You shouldn't be here," he said finally.

His voice wasn't loud.

But it didn't need to be.

The other man froze.

"I… I was told to check—"

"You were told wrong."

Silence.

Heavy.

Unforgiving.

The man at the door swallowed slightly, clearly unsure of what to do next.

Her heartbeat quickened.

She had never seen something like this before.

This kind of control.

This kind of presence.

Without raising his voice.

Without even moving.

He had already taken over the entire room.

"I don't like interruptions," he continued calmly.

The message was clear.

Leave.

Now.

The man nodded quickly.

"Of course, sir. It won't happen again."

And just like that—

He was gone.

The door closed.

The silence returned.

But it wasn't the same as before.

This time, it carried something else.

Power.

She slowly turned her head, looking at him again.

Her chest was rising and falling unevenly.

"Who… are you?" she asked quietly.

It was the first time she had asked the question.

The real question.

He glanced at her briefly, then looked away as if it didn't matter.

"Someone you don't need to worry about," he replied.

But that answer only made things worse.

Because now—

She knew.

He wasn't just a man.

And this wasn't just a night.

Something deeper was unfolding.

Something she didn't understand yet.

He stubbed out his cigarette, his expression unreadable.

Then his gaze returned to her.

Stronger this time.

More certain.

"You shouldn't let anyone walk in like that," he said.

She frowned slightly.

"I don't have a choice."

His eyes darkened.

That answer didn't sit well with him.

At all.

For a moment, he said nothing.

But something had already changed.

A decision.

Quiet.

Final.

"No one walks in here again," he said.

Her breath caught.

The tone.

The certainty.

It wasn't a suggestion.

It was a line.

A boundary drawn without permission.

And somehow—

She knew—

He wasn't just saying it.

He meant it.

And when a man like him meant something—

It became reality.
