Chapter 7 - Chapter 6

The words he had spoken still lingered in the air.

No one walks in here again.

It wasn't just a statement.

It was a decision.

And somehow, she knew—men like him did not make empty ones.

She sat there in silence, her thoughts tangled, her heart still unsettled from everything that had happened.

He, on the other hand, looked completely at ease.

As if nothing had changed.

As if everything was already under his control.

Which made it even more terrifying.

A few minutes passed before he finally stood up.

The movement was slow, deliberate.

Her eyes followed him instinctively.

"Stay here," he said.

Simple.

Direct.

Not a request.

Before she could respond, he walked toward the door and opened it.

The moment he stepped outside, the atmosphere beyond the room shifted.

She could hear faint voices.

Low.

Careful.

Respectful.

It wasn't like before.

Something had changed.

She hesitated, then moved slightly closer to the door, her curiosity stronger than her fear.

The hallway was dim, but she could still make out figures standing at a distance.

And in the center of it—

Him.

Facing another man.

The one who controlled this place.

The tension was immediate.

Palpable.

"You should've informed me," the man said, trying to keep his voice steady.

There was unease in it.

Barely hidden.

He didn't respond right away.

Instead, he slipped his hands into his pockets, his posture relaxed.

Too relaxed.

"I don't inform," he said finally.

His voice was calm.

Cold.

The kind that didn't leave room for argument.

The other man forced a small smile.

"Of course. I just meant—"

"I know what you meant."

The interruption was quiet.

But sharp.

Enough to silence him instantly.

Her breath caught slightly as she watched from behind the door.

She had never seen anyone speak like that here.

Not to him.

Not to the man who controlled everything.

And yet—

He stood there, unaffected.

Untouched by the authority that ruled this place.

"She's not for anyone else," he continued.

The words were simple.

But they carried weight.

Heavy.

Final.

The other man stiffened.

For a second, it looked like he might argue.

But then—

He didn't.

Because he couldn't.

"Understood," he said quickly.

The answer came too fast.

Too easily.

As if refusing was never an option.

Her heart started beating faster.

Because now—

She understood.

This wasn't just about money.

This wasn't just about a single night.

He had claimed something.

Something that was never meant to be his.

And no one was stopping him.

Not even the man who owned this place.

The conversation ended just as quickly as it had begun.

He turned and walked back.

Unbothered.

Unchallenged.

She stepped away from the door quickly, her heart racing as she returned to where she had been sitting.

The door opened again.

And he entered.

Nothing in his expression had changed.

Calm.

Unreadable.

As if he hadn't just shifted the rules of the entire place.

Her voice came out softer than she expected.

"What did you do?"

He looked at her.

For a moment, he said nothing.

Then—

"I made things clear."

Her chest tightened.

"Clear… how?"

He walked closer, stopping right in front of her again.

Close enough to make her breath uneven.

"No one else touches what's mine," he said.

The words were quiet.

But they hit harder than anything else.

Her heart skipped.

Because there it was.

Not hidden.

Not subtle.

Clear.

Possessive.

Final.

She should have felt afraid.

She should have pushed him away.

But instead—

She felt something else.

Something far more dangerous.

Because for the first time—

Being chosen by someone like him…

Didn't feel like a curse.

And that was exactly what made it one.
