The world outside continued as it always had, people moved through their routines without noticing anything strange, but for the five scientists everything had changed. What they had seen in the forest was no longer just a mystery it had become a responsibility they could not ignore.
Back in their temporary lab Adrian stood in front of a large digital screen watching multiple signals spread across a world map. Each signal was faint on its own but together they formed a clear pattern. Seven different points in seven different locations. Mira worked beside him adjusting the readings and confirming what they already suspected. The energy from the rings had not disappeared it had attached itself to something stable and human.
Rayan leaned against the table and said that this confirmed it the rings had bonded with people and they were not moving anymore. Selene looked at the data carefully and added that the signals were not fluctuating like normal energy sources which meant the connection was permanent. Leo stared at the screen and quietly said that meant those people were carrying that power inside them now.
Adrian folded his arms and thought for a moment. He said if the rings chose them then there must be a reason and whatever that reason is it is something bigger than all of us. Mira looked at him and asked what their next step would be. Adrian replied without hesitation that they find them all.
Rayan asked how they planned to approach seven unknown individuals without causing panic or drawing attention. Selene answered that they would not approach them directly at first they needed to observe them understand their behavior and confirm how the rings react in different situations. Leo nodded slowly but he still looked unsure as if he was thinking about what those people might be going through.
As they continued tracking the signals something unexpected appeared on the screen. One of the energy readings suddenly spiked for a brief moment before returning to normal. Mira quickly focused on it and said that one of them had just activated something. Adrian stepped closer and watched carefully. It was not a random spike it was controlled even if it lasted only a second.
Rayan smiled slightly and said so it has already begun. Selene added that if one of them can trigger that kind of response without training then the potential of these rings is far greater than they imagined. Leo looked at the screen and said that means the others might start experiencing it soon as well.
Adrian took a deep breath and made another decision. He said they do not have much time anymore. If the powers are already starting to awaken then they need to reach them before something goes wrong. Mira agreed and said they should begin preparing a place where they can bring them safely. Rayan asked if they were still serious about building their own base.
Adrian looked at all of them and said they had no other choice. They could not risk exposing this to the world and they could not study it in a public lab. Selene nodded and said the base would need to be completely hidden and secure with enough space for training and research. Leo finally spoke with more confidence and said if they are going to do this then they need to do it properly because those seven people might become the only line of defense if something worse appears. The room went quiet for a moment. They all understood what he meant. This was not just about studying power anymore. This was about preparing for something unknown.
Adrian turned back to the screen and looked at the seven glowing points on the map. He said these seven are not random. They were chosen for a reason and whatever is coming next is connected to them.
Mira softly asked what if they refuse to come with us. Adrian paused for a second and then replied then we convince them.
Rayan let out a small laugh and said that might not be as easy as it sounds. Selene responded that it does not have to be easy it just has to work. Leo looked at the screen again and quietly said they probably do not even know what is happening to them yet.
Adrian nodded and said that is exactly why they need us. He looked at the seven signals one more time. Seven unknown lives. Seven hidden powers. And a future that had already begun to change.
