The lab felt different that night. It was the same place where they had worked for years but now it no longer felt like a workplace, it felt temporary as if none of them truly belonged there anymore. Rayan crossed his arms and said that normal life already ended the moment that box opened. Silence filled the room again. This time it felt heavier. Mira slowly nodded and said she was in. Rayan gave a small smile and said he never planned to walk away anyway. Selene agreed without hesitation and Leo after a few seconds of thinking also nodded. The decision had been made. They were all in. Completely.
Adrian said the first step would be to shut down everything connected to their current work. No records no access no trace of what they had discovered. Mira began working on the system immediately erasing files disconnecting networks and removing any data that could lead back to them. Rayan handled the equipment making sure nothing important was left behind. Selene started planning the structure of the base they would need while Leo assisted her quietly.
