Watching. Waiting. She stopped. For no clear reason. Her eyes moved across the hallway and then they met someone standing at a distance. A man she had never seen before but something about him felt different. He was not a teacher and he was not a student. Adrian Voss.
For a few seconds neither of them moved. The noise of the hallway faded in Elisa's mind as if everything else had disappeared. She could feel the ring on her hand reacting, a faint glow spreading across its surface. Adrian noticed it. He understood immediately. He took a slow step forward but kept his distance. He did not want to startle her or draw attention. Elisa watched him carefully, her expression calm but focused.
She was not afraid. That alone told him everything. Mira and the others were watching from a distance. Rayan quietly said that this was the one. Selene nodded and said there was no doubt. Leo looked at Elisa and said she seemed different from the others.
Adrian spoke softly so only she could hear. He said you know something is happening to you. Elisa did not reply immediately but her eyes did not leave his. After a moment she said you know about this.
It was not a question. Adrian gave a small nod. He said we know enough to tell you that you are not alone. For a brief moment Elisa looked at her hand and then back at him. She did not panic and she did not step back. Instead she asked what it is. Adrian answered carefully. He said it is power and it chose you.
Before she could respond another presence stepped into the moment. Jenny Jennifer approached from one side her expression confused but alert. She had felt the same pull and it had led her here. Zoe Forger was not far behind, her eyes moving between Elisa and Adrian as she tried to understand what was happening.
Three of them. Standing together for the first time. None of them had planned it. But all of them were connected. Rayan whispered from a distance that this was happening faster than expected. Mira said they needed to keep things controlled. Selene watched silently ready for anything. Leo looked at all three and said they were already drawn to each other. Adrian looked at them and said quietly this is not the place to talk. Elisa crossed her arms slightly and said then where.
