The decision was made quietly but it carried weight none of them fully understood. Elisa stood still for a moment after agreeing to listen, her eyes fixed on Adrian as if she was trying to read every hidden truth behind his words. Jenny shifted slightly unsure but curious while Zoe remained calm watching everything without speaking.
Adrian did not waste time. He said they could not explain everything here and that if they wanted answers they would have to come with him. There was no force in his voice but there was certainty.
Jenny frowned and said this sounded like something straight out of a strange story. Rayan who stood at a distance let out a quiet laugh but did not step forward. Mira watched carefully ready to step in if anything went wrong. Selene stayed silent as always observing every reaction. Leo looked more concerned than the others as if he understood how difficult this moment was for them.
Elisa looked at Jenny and then at Zoe. No words were needed between them but something had already formed, a connection they could not explain. She turned back to Adrian and said we are not going anywhere unless we know you are telling the truth.
Adrian nodded. He expected that. He slowly raised his hand and activated a small device. For a brief second a faint projection appeared in the air, a visual of the black box and the seven rings glowing inside it. The image was clear enough to feel real.
Elisa's eyes narrowed slightly. Jenny took a step closer. Zoe focused completely. Adrian said those rings chose you. All of you. And there are four more like you out there. Silence followed. This time it was not confusion. It was realization. Jenny looked at her hand and then back at him and said this is not possible. Zoe spoke for the first time and said if it is not possible then why is it happening. Elisa said nothing but her expression had changed, she was no longer questioning whether it was real, she was trying to understand what came next.
Adrian said they had been tracking the rings since the moment they were found and that they knew where the others were. He explained that they were not enemies and that their only goal was to help them understand and control what they had been given.
Jenny crossed her arms and said and we are just supposed to trust you. Rayan finally stepped a little closer and said no you are supposed to decide. Mira added that they were not forcing anything.
Leo quietly said you deserve to know the truth. Selene looked at them and said time will not wait for you to feel ready. Elisa took a slow breath. She looked at Jenny and Zoe again. Then she said we go. Jenny looked surprised for a second but then sighed and said fine but if this turns out to be something weird I am leaving. Zoe gave a small nod showing her agreement without saying anything.
Adrian understood that this was as much trust as they were going to get. He said then follow us.
As they began to move something else happened at the same time far from the school. Stebin Ben felt a sudden shift in his body like something had just pulled at him.
