Chapter 10 - Chapter 10

(After 30 mins)

I came out wearing a black thigh-length robe, picked up my phone, and went downstairs.

(Downstairs)

I walked into the lounge and sat down. I heard footsteps and turned to see a woman with (golden knee-length hair, brown eyes, milky white skin, baby-soft lips, huge chest, and huge ass) coming out of the kitchen.

"Hey, Mom," I said as I stood up and walked to the dining area.

"Hey, darling, breakfast's ready," my mom, Emma Cruise, said as she placed the food on the table.

"The dishes smell amazing, Mom," I said, picking up my toast.

"Thanks, darling… Is that why you decided to stay home today and resume tomorrow?" Mom teased.

"Mom, you really need to stop being so full of yourself," I said, raising my brows at her.

"Aaah! I don't know why I didn't get a sweet daughter. Instead, I got such a harsh one. I'm still wondering where you got your character from," Mom said, pouting as she pinched my cheeks.

"Hands off, remember," I said, softly slapping her hands away.

"Okay… but why didn't you go to school today then?" Mom asked, walking to the kitchen.

"My girls and I are hanging out today," I said coldly, sipping my apple juice.

"Honey, I don't like how you only have that group of friends. Make more friends… In fact, you can make more as you're going to a new place tomorrow," Mom said, furrowing her brows.

"Mom, are you literally telling me that?" I asked, raising my brows.

"Well, I'm just telling you to make some effort. I hate that you don't have many friends," Mom said.

"I'm not interested," I said coldly.

"But…" Mom began.

"I said I'm not interested. Wasn't your passion for making friends what got you where you are now? A beautiful woman used and dumped by her husband for another woman… and you're even trying to forgive him because you're starved for love?" I said coldly, mocking her.

"Lexy…" Mom said, looking hurt.

"Am I lying? A beautiful, stupid woman dumped by her worthless husband, now divorced, begging for a man who won't come back. And if he does, it'll only be for your face and assets, nothing more," I said harshly, dropping my juice.

"Lexy, that's enough!!" Mom shouted sternly.

"Oh, please. When your attitude is needed, you don't use it. But when it's not, you do. I feel sorry for you, Mom, and I'm very happy I didn't inherit your character," I said coldly, standing up.

"Lexy…" Mom shouted again.

"I'm off. I have something to do," I said, walking out.

(At the staircase)

I saw Jace coming downstairs in his casual clothes. He spotted me and quickly hid his hands behind his back.

"Big sis, are you going back upstairs?" Jace asked, glancing around.

I raised an eyebrow. "What's behind your back, kid?" I asked coldly.

"Umm… Nothing, it's nothing," Jace said nervously, stepping back.
